If you want to burrow your devourers then switch the mark to earth (this gives you plus 1 to the hammer) if not use a short sword, either way lose the quantum pillars and switch them for obsidian pillars.

They might not be op'ed but cards that can freeze (congeal upped) are more powerful then the average monster.

There is always the fact that you can make your own cards untargetable, 14 towers are really hard to destroy if they can't be targeted.

It varies by half breed, some I have no trouble with, some just kinda go super rush and beat me to death. though it might be because I suck and not due to their skill
