I am unlucky.
Used the Dark/Light/steal an Eternity deck. And I didn´t get a gravity shield in my first 16 cards.
The hypergeometrc proability calculator says this has only a chance of <4%. Now if I had a 5th grav shiled, the chance would have only been 1.4%

I feel responsible for misinforming this thread. Hopefully no biggie.
I played the sanct version actually, not the holy light one. (kinda obvious from my screenshot which contains a sanct)

So anyway.
I now tried out the actual Holy light version and Graviton pulled his Titan pretty early, against which Holy light cant do shit while Sancts might outheal it. Dunno, maybe a balance between sancts and holy lights is overall better? I´m hitting the trainer for now.

Edit:
So far the sanct version went 5/5 for me.
The Holy Light version only went 3 wins/7losses.

In my opinion Otyughs lend themselves to a controlling play style(or stalling if you so want). This fits a lot better with Sanctuaries than with Holy lights, simply because Sancts are perms. Playing with Holy light felt more like a rush deck with 140-160 hp.
And keep in mind, Holy lights can´t always rescue your Oty. Especially before you cleared the field, when it matters the most.

Ironically, the Sanctuaries saved me exactly 2 times where Holy lights would never have saved me.
1. Graviton got an early Titan out and I barely managed to outheal it at around 20 hp. Two rounds (14 HP) later I had the field clear of monster. Some 7 turns later I won.
2. I had only 3-4 Pillars but 5 sancts on hand. After the first explosion against a pillar I played sancts to take the explosions for my pillars. And he did draw 2 more explosions.

Overall I feel that Holy light doesn´t pack enough of a punch for 1 card.  10 HP for 1 :light is pretty good. But 10 HP for 1 card isn´t.

Ouch.
Just had the worst draw ever against neptune. I used this.

Basically the same as in the op, but with -4 immortals, +2 pillars, +2 lobos.
My hand sported 1 pillar. By the time I could play a dim shield I had less hp than a shockwave.
:(

I hate Hermes.
I used the deck in the op and died miserably. 4 dim shileds in starting hand, first draw another dim shield. All 3 pillars got exploded by turn 2.

It probably was bad draw, but I cannot believe that people claim Hermes to be beatable without rares and unupped while other (imho easier) FGs are supposedly unbeatable without upped cards.
But mostly I just hate Hermes for being such a damn effective FG.

I made a mistake here. As you can obviously see on my screenshot, I used the variant with sanctuaries.

and won 5 out of 10. trainer Matches Vs Graviton.
The Holy light is a lot cheaper then Sanct.
Can keep your oty alive trough a Early Game Gravity Pull, and also works as the healing you need to survive the titan.

So i went up against The real thing.

I lost.. =/ so no screeny
And I won with it. Props to this deck, at least for me it worked. And it felt quite good while doing so. I´d say the only 2 ways you will possibly lose with it is if you get gravity pulled or firestormed early or if he explodes the few pends you have.
But Graviton has only 2 of either cc and only 4 total explosions.
For a totally unupped FG deck this is one of the best I have tried yet. I never was even close to losing, unlike with any of the phase shield/fire bolt variants that are recommended for every third FG or so.

Imho add this deck to Jezebel unupped.
Code: [Select]
592 592 592 592 592 592 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5up 5up 5up 5up 5up 5up 5us 5us 5us 5us 5us 5us
Found it in the Jezebel oracle thread and it definiteve has a working chance unupped. Drawing 1 EA early is autowin. No ifs no buts.

Deck Help / Re: Improving Schrödinger´s Rainbow (unupped)

Which Duo exactly?
 :death/ :gravity is unreliable.

Isn´t  :entropy/ :death a little short on PC and CC ?

The reason this is trio/rainbow is because it works better than the duos I came up with.

Deck Help / Improving Schrödinger´s Rainbow (unupped)
« on: September 01, 2011, 07:09:38 pm »
I once had a dream.
What if I could make a deck that would make good use of Schrödinger´s cat?
Now obviously the cards you can use for that are rather limited. Boneyard, Bonewall, Vulture, Dreamcatcher and that´s about it. Meanwhile I also wanted to create an Otyugh deck at some point.
Long story short, I eventually came up with this.
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4vc 4vq 4vq 4vq 52g 52g 52k 52n 52n 52r 55q 55q 55r 55r 55r 55r 55u 576 5c1 5lf 5rp 5rp 5up 5up 8pl

The main combinations in this deck are the following:
Schrödinger´s cat triggers Boneyards, the Bonewall and the Vulture.
Otyugh does the same when eating a nonskeleton creature. Eating Skeletons also triggers the Bonewall and the Vulture.
The advantage herein is that Otyugh can keep growing even with no eatable enemy creature on the field, quickly getting to 5-7 HP at which point only few unupped creatures can resist(Mainly Dragons and Armagio).

The rainbow additions are for the obvious weaknesses. Grav. Fire Eater and Forest Spirit for damage, Steal for PC, Blessing and Momentum to grow Otyugh and deal with walls and lastly Sundial to speed it up.

This deck is intended to be an all purpose deck.
So far it has proven rather successful in Arena and PvP for me already(or else I would have scrapped it already).

The main problem is that Quant Pillars are unreliable to produce the 3 main Quanta. The obvious solution would be to turn it into a Triodeck.
BUT this would also mean I lose all the things the off colour cards provide. Sundial is a round of free stall, Steal is invaluable at times and Blessing is 3 times as effective as Momentum to help out Otyugh.
If this were to turn into a Trio I absolutely need an alternative for PC. I just can´t think of one.
- Adding Pulverizers would just make it more expensive in  :gravity, slower, add another main element and do other mean things.
- Butterfly Effect is incredibly, incredibly :entropy intensive.
- ? ? ? ?

Main focus is to stay control themed.
If it will work better without Schrödinger´s, Otyughs or Boneyards(Can´t imagine how Oty&Schrödinger alone are supposed to work), I will gladly accept it.

Any ideas welcome.

Introduce Yourself / Re: Hi, I´m new here.

I could have posted something more informative I guess.

I´ve been reading this forum before.
I used a recommended Aether stall/Fire bolt finisher when the Oracle predicted Morte. Nevertheless, it didn´t work. In some freak accident it worked on the FG I got after him.
Since then I was mainly trying this and the Flay´em deck, since I got neither Eternity needed for other decks nor Fahrenheit, which the Fire stall would need for example against a couple of FGs.(I took Pulverizer at Quest 7. Now I already have 3 Pulv, but still no Eternity).
I would be baffled if the recommended decks would have bad QI though.

Now the frustrating part is when you get the good hands against FGs you cannot beat with a certain deck. And no thank you, grinding AI3 is boring and pays less than low level PvP. The same decks work though^^

Forum Bugs, Suggestions and Feedback / Stickied information threads
« on: August 30, 2011, 02:00:49 pm »
So I am relatively new to elements, playing less than a month.
Corollary of that, I am looking for guides, how-to´s, tutorials and other things in this forum.

There are many helpful things and I am thankful for that, but it would be incredible awesome when in the tutorials section or the arena section there would be a stickied thread with information about the rewards of the arena, the fake gods, AI3 grind and PvP.
Especially:
-How the special spin works.(has it really only 3 rares on it? So far probably yes)
-Winning against a fake god is worth losing 10 times(I overread somewhere that one win averages 400 something electrum in rewards)
-In General the reward spin consists only of cards your opponent had in his deck, but not always in same proportion(almost no pillars on the reels for example)
-AI3 rewards you 10 electrum and another 1-10 electrum depending on your hp at the time of your win.
-in PvP the rewards are higher. I invest 20 and get back 50 with about half HP. In my experience playing PvP with a decently fast deck is better than grinding AI. (Also more fun.)
-How Score and Arena rating work.(Does winning arena increase your score? Does increasing your score affect your arena level?)

And I bet there are other things I am not aware of. Right now there are mainly game mechanics tutorials and very basic "getting started" guides, but there is very little information regarding what options pay what. Grinding AI3 is often recommended but I don´t even find it to be that much better than low level PvP.
With less than a week experience under my belt I don´t feel quite qualified to write a thread about most of these topics.

Please share the knowledge.

Greetings.

What the title says.

For those who care, I play since a week or so and struggle to get coins and rare cards together.
Right now I´m trying to beat the Fake gods in hopes of the rewards, but I keep on drawing shitty hands -.-

Nevertheless, hi and everything^^
