I wonder if it is possible to enable liveconnect on the elements game itself and get the data directly from it without pressing buttons...

You can convert if cascaed like you described above to a hashmap really quickly probably even with a regex. There is really no reason not to do it

You really shouldn't put all the cards in the code itself. Externalize it in a database (h2 db?), an xml file (take a look at xstream), a json file or any other external storage file, that way non programmers can add card definitions/change costs, etc.

Also: cascading ifs is kind of a bad idea, build a hashmap, that allows much faster access:

map.get("code");

Id's also convert the card codes to their numeric equivalent if that is possible they don't actually appear to be base 32 as plaplan stated (stone pillars are code 58o but their numeric value is 400 (see http://elementsthegame.wikia.com/index.php?title=Template:Card_Name_From_Id&action=edit ))

Deck Help / Re: Making $$$ using a Hope/Rol Deck - The Stats
« on: April 30, 2010, 08:14:05 pm »
I gain 20k Elektrum per 90min grind with this deck (selling cards).

Btw, you personal text under your avatar is "Für immer und einen Tag" correctly.  ;)
That means 18 cards in 63 spins which is well...above average

Thanks for the note will change it accordingly  :)
exactly what iw as thinking, the only reason you have so much electrum is youve been lucky with spins, the odds of winning a card is ALOT lower than 30% (you said int he first post i beleive
Actually it's a little higher than 30% per god (not per spin)

Rainbow Decks / Re: my the best rainbow deck ..

I made 6 FG deck, 1 has been regarded close to prefect
Yeah sure...

a) this should move to humour, 90% win rate on mono aether is just too funny, and please stop confusing the new players
No one ever said Mono Aether had 90% win rate. All ntz said is that mono aether has 90% win rate against god's without permanent control which limits the god by a lot.

While I still don't believe that this deck is good I can't stand people making comments without even reading the thread.

So do you have stats against various FGs for it? It doesn't look like it'd work too well...

Actually you DO have to go trough the entire topic. I find it extremely rude for people to post a question which has already been answered 4 pages prior in the same thread.

Exactly. So why do you go around posting threads with
Quote
5)Spelling is important (if you dont speak english as your native language though, we understand)
things like that in it if you can't even do a simple SPACE after the ). That's a pretty basic spelling rule. (Also: what puppy said)
And to add to that "10)No one likes being spammed with PM's" that's NOT how you use apostrophes.

I don't think that this threads adds any value to the forum. Playing "Mod" is not appreciated in most forums and I hope this is one of them. If a mod feels the need to put such a thread in place then let them. It's not your responsibility.

General Discussion / Re: Elements Statistics
« on: April 18, 2010, 02:44:09 pm »
A few suggestions:

- Add multiple total win rates display:
a) Naive total win rate (Wins/Losses)
b) Normalized win/loss rate (Normalize the FG Encounters so they match the assumed statistical normalized encounter rate: ie I have 8 losses against seism and 1 win against Fire Queen, no other records, from what I gather the chance to meet fire queen is twice as high as meeting seims, I've just been unlucky, the total normalized win rate should now be 16/24 66%)
c) Naive win rate excluding auto quit FGs - either allow defining auto quit FGs or mark any god that have no win as auto quit
d) Normalized win/loss rate excluding auto quit FGs

- Add graphs how often you win against specific gods, how often you encounter them, how often you fight FGs daily, whatever you can think of, graphs are great <3

- Support importing decks from card codes exported from the game

- Integrate with a card code display script and display deck images similar to how it's done on the forum

- Provide export of the data in some format (csv?, xml?) so we can run our own twisted statistics on the data

There is another thing like the ipad. It is called Wepad and was inventet by a german.
It is not in sale now, but it will maybe come soon.
Actually there are lots of devices similar to the ipad announced but none that are worth mentioning are available yet.

And I would like to see more browser games written in Java than Flash
As much as I like Java (I'm a proffesional java programmer myself) I can't agree with you. The current Java Browser plugin is absolutely horrible and does not work correctly on half the computers I use ie. 2 out of 4.

I don't have any meaningful reasons to dislike Wacom. Main reasons for me are that one tablet I had from them broke shortly after I bought it (only lasted for about 2-3 month, this was really long ago though, it had ps2 and serial which had to be both connected for the tablet to work) (might have been bad luck of course). More importantly I don't like the way they repackage/advertize their "manga"-drawing tablets but - again - that's just a personal thing.

Apple is currently still (?) taking a stance against Adobe/Flash in favor of HTML5 which is a good thing (tm) in theory (even if it's done by apple). HTML5 allows you to do all the cool stuff flash does just with open standards which will actually work on operating systems that are not windows.
No flash is also true for (almost) all smartphones and other tablet pcs at the moment. Android has a Beta quality flash player on 3 (or so) phones and windows mobile also has a beta flash player, nothing final yet though.
In short not supporting Flash is a political/evangelism thing mostly. Licence costs might play a role too but I believe that's second priority, flash would currently make the smart apple producs (iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad) more attractive. Personally I hope for the prescense of flash on the web to decrease more in favor of html5/javascript and svg animations.
The main reason against the iPad from my point of view are the lack of USB Ports and the Application lockdown similar to the iPhone (Appstore, apple review, apple enforcing bullshit rules to 3rd party apps (no pinch zoom for 3rd party)). Aside from that I see it as a very nice device to have on your living room table for quickly surfing the web while the commercials are on or to settle dinner table discussions ;)

edit: Just skimmed the NY Times article. They make the basic mistake of comparing the iPad to a traditional Notebook/Computer. It's not meant to be that. The iPad is a genuine mobile internet device (or tablet pc if you want). It's meant for quickly surfing the web and maybe watching some youtube videos it does not try to nor can it replace a computer.
