Deck Help / Re: A Basic Gravity/Life Deck for AI3/AI4 Farming
« on: November 30, 2011, 03:36:08 am »
Well, first of all, you're feeding 4 elements ( :water :life :gravity :death ) with quantum towers. That's impractical and very prone to lose because of "bad" quanta generation (i.e. QT's generating too much :light , which you can't use). So either go rainbow or make a quartet (I say a Trio, and being generous). I'd like to see this fixed before I talk about anything else of this deck, because right now that problem overshadows the rest.
BTW, to make a good deck, the main tip is "keep it simple". Define your main strategy. It should be one and only one. If it's having fun, let it be. If it's quinting a momentum'd growing specter, let it be. IDK what's your main idea behind this. I think it may be making Oty's eat stuff, that feed boneyards, that also feed emphatic bonds. Well, with that in mind, using Forest Spirits only slows this deck. I mean, you're adding one more element to the deck, making it need more quanta generation sources, making it more prone to bad draws. Also, mitosis and BH should go. Once you finish the deck, and if you see a GOOD reason* to put them in, you can.
*Unfortunately, saying "just in case I..." is not always a good reason, because if that sole condition doesn't happen, that card will mostly clog your hand. Rainbows can be an exception.

Hope this encourages you to make the deck better, I like the idea behind it...

EDIT:
The strategy is kind of all over the place.

Why do you need quantum pillars? You only use 4 of the elements, most of your quanta would be wasted.
True

What are the boneyards for? Skeletons just clog up your field, and at 1|1, they don't do much. If AI plays a shield, they become obsolete.
I see they're for the emphatic bonds, but I guess we should wait for an answer.

I suggest you just stick with either gravity, or a life/water deck. They don't have much synergy together.
Meh, Trios/Quartets are fun, let him try them before he gets used to mono-rushes.

Rainbow Decks / Re: BRONZE Grinder??

Sooo, I like this deck, I may try it once I have the money :-\

That looks like it has 2 dead cards. Pharaoh? Miracle? How often are you able to use them? Switch them for something with less cost, like Precognition and Blessing respectively.
I would replace with Pegasus/Archangel (only upped one) and GoTP, since this deck has enough quantum pillars/towers for those...

i agree to an extent, but i think i am open to exceptions which are in some way interesting to combine together, fit inside a single element (maybe if it is a duo card with an active ability, but this is getting a bit wishy washy if so) and work flawlessly with the cards theme.
Well, I also agree that exceptions could (and will) exist. Actually, I wouldn't complain if 'Supermassive' turned out to be like 'Airborne', given that any big enough creature should have it (as any creature that should fly has Airborne).

hmm, see your point, and i am not a fan of "one upping", if this card was put into the game (considering im Ofer, this isn't a concern), a slight rewording of momentum to "defensive effects" instead of "shield effects" would cover it.
Yeah, you're right... As it is now, this could block them.

Also,
and come to think of it, does momentum ignore a creature with gravity pull in game currently?
Yes.
Ninja'd

Lol. Is that a random period in 1337?
It costs 13,17 quanta!
That's a comma? :o
In Spanish, we use commas, he meant 13.37 (yep, also corrected the "3")

BTW, love this card!

sidetracking to an adjacent convo in this thread- any card can have unlimited passives, they do not have a conflict in the coding.  active abilities (even ones which dont require activation to use, its a bit of a misnomer, but still) can only have one per card
While this is true, it's highly recommended to give each creature 1 passive ability max (with the exception of Airborne, for the reason I stated before), mostly because 2 simple -not meaning vanilla- creatures are better for the game than 1 complex one.
I still like this card, but I would like it to have only one passive skill.

Music / Re: what are the best genres of music in your opinion
« on: November 30, 2011, 02:24:39 am »
As the title says what are the best genres of music in your opinion?
Well, I guess it's up to each one, but what would define a "best" genre of music?? I can't even imagine what I should take in account. If the question was about which ones I like the most, I could have an answer, but as it is now, I value every music genre equally.
That said, there are some genres that tend to have less "musical" songs, while being more about selling disks and stuff. Most known one is pop. I reckon it as a gender as equally as the rest, since I know (you know, not personally) some good pop musicians. But then there they come, Disney's pop "musicians" (IDK if all of them suck, but most of them do, and I'm definetly not including Phil Collins in that list)... well, that kind of people give bad names to some genres.
I sincerely can't choose a "best" genre. I like rock n' roll, mostly some old-ish/blues-ish songs, and sometimes something more melodic (see pop), or those metal "instrumentals" or whatever, where you can more easily appreciate the music behind the loud sound of the metal (you can do it nontheless, but I find it quite hard).

Well, in either case, a question would be "does momentum bypass this"? Its functioning as a defensive weapon, but momentum technically bypasses "shield effects" which wouldn't apply to this.

Also, for Riposte damage, does this get dealt to the offending attacker, or always to the elemental that owns the attacking weapon/creature? Put simply, if this Riposte triggers on a Frog, does the Frog die?
good points, honestly i hadnt thought of the first question, and i guess technically even something with momentum could be deflected by this- it isnt so much as stopping the attack as it is redirecting it out of the way, and as you said- this is a weapon, not a shield.
Still, thematically, Momentum makes creatures Unstoppable* (see upgraded card). This card would then be stopping an unstoppable creature... I think it shouldn't block them.
*I know it still says momentum in the card, but the whole idea is that momentum'd creatures are unstoppable. This would be able to kill a momentum'd quint'd creature, for example, and I think that shouldn't happen.

Movies & TV / Re: Spongebob Squarepants
« on: November 30, 2011, 02:09:36 am »
I actually like some jokes in my childhood's cartoons. Mostly since I couldn't understand them back then, which is quite ironic because they should be fun for kids, ain't them?
Anyways, Spongebob is one of my favs. I tend to see it as the child's "Simpsons", mostly because in the last seasons many people criticized them for being too wtf/stupid and stopped to watch them, and also because they are both yellow and stupid... and I like stupidity/wtf things.
Yeah, it's quite easy to make me laugh.

« on: November 30, 2011, 01:42:11 am »
Considering the sheer amount of quanta and turns that it requires to do such a combination, I wouldn't label it as outright OP. Nymph, Volcano, and the first rage pot use takes about 20 Fire quanta, which could have given you about 2 Dragons or 3+ Lava golems that are building up.
I actually meant for it being just Rage Pot'd... The Nymph was just an explanation of how it could climb up to 100+
Once you play this, any Rage Pot gets too powerful (it gives you +6 attack on a nearly unstoppable creature). I think it might be balanced, but it looks like a really powerful combo :-\

Also,
another note, supermassives and overdrive, better than titan!
I think there are many good reasons why there aren't many high-hp'd creatures, and they go further than Catapult/Gravity Pull/Chimera...

Wait, can I Rage Pot this until it reaches +100 dmg? (supposing I have a Red Nymph) Does Supermassive disallow you to target this creature with Rage Potion??
Because this card would turn every Rage Pot into a +6|toomuchhp creature, in a mono-element. I see it dangerous, but I may be wrong.
