This is a very impressive deck.  It is one of the few decks that, if drawing randomness wasn't taken into consideration(extreme bad luck), is able to execute its game plan consistently.

The deck has a goal, and very few external forces have the capability of thwarting those goals (whether the deck wins or not).
-Shields don't count as successfully thwarting the goal of the deck because the deck gets to do what it wants to do, whether the damage goes through is another story.
-Pest and black hole on the other hand, can thwart this deck.

Rather annoying deck, even if I have used it myself to great effect.  Why no Lobo?
Why lobo?  Whatever a creature has that needs to be loboed doesnt matter.
example:
-lobo an oty?  What will it eat?
-lobo a druid? what will it mutate? if it mutates a skelly and turns it into a 25/25 dragon, who cares.  6 Dim shields = 18 turns of no damage.  30- initial 7 cards = 23.  23-18 = 4 turns of actually getting hit.  no many turns
-lobo a FFQ, who cares if it make FFs :P
The only thing to lobo is a gravity Nymph. :o

@Cambadillac

Personally, I would take out a single Obsidian Tower and add in an Obsidian Dragon. That way, late game, if you had to, you could play and Fractal it, and then play a whole handful of them (assuming you aren't full of Pests by then). It is still a devastating deck, and I would hate to play against it (Pests are aptly named, as they are the most annoying creatures in the entire game, to me, because ALL of my decks rely on the Mark >.<").
Good call.  Late game, i will easily have the quanta to drop like 5 dragons.  true dat!

Deck Help / Re: Best pvp deck with these resources?

The unupped FG deck is NOT a good PvP deck.  It is only good for FG farming and vs really bad PvP decks  :P

If you are looking for good PvP decks, check out the PvP tournament decks.  They are unupped and some are really good.  here: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,1915.0.html

Why does everyone mention the sundial nerf?  That was a long while ago and sundials are just... sundials now.

I have the best upped pvp deck btw.  8)

Deck Help / Re: Kurohami's getting no where rainbow deck

Okay, I'll try. But heavy armor combos really well with otyugh, graboid is there because it's untargetable when first played, and I could use it to draw out creature control cards before the more vital creature come out, if quints don't come that is. And, is sundial no longer popular in rainbow decks? I thought they are the core of the deck.
Keep heavy if you like but take into consideration that you have 1 card in a huge deck and you are waiting for another almost equally scarce card.  And graboid is very pointless in this deck.  In place of a graboid, you could have a RoF for instance, or an hourglass.  Cards that will help with the overall strategy of the deck.  Graboid is just a loner with no synergy with other cards in this deck.

Sundials are still good but no longer the "backbone" of rainbows.  1 turn can be crucial and only use when you have light quanta for that extra draw.  Very helpful.  I dont personally use them, but they can help you.

Icybreaker wants you to remove them but i dont think it is a good idea, you will get rushed hard and fast- especially when removing an hourglass and a Dim Shield. You will have very little defense and draw power.

Hello.  Deck looks very inconsistent.
In a rainbow FG deck, dont worry about damage early on.  The reasoning for that is that FGs have alot of health and you need a BIG force to attack as a team.  It can be thought of as a war.  Go in as a team, work as a team.  If you have people just attack when they want all random like, nothing gets done.
Remove:
-graboid (he is there for damage?  not enough and is a loner)
-remove 2 steals (when you get the card, which will be CONSISTENTLY mid-late game, you will have very little use for it since FGs packs a bunch of multiples)
-remove 4 pillars
-remove all super novas  (they only work well early game right? well 4 in a 54 card deck means you most likely will not get it early.  In a 30 card deck...)
- remove armor
-remove 1 bone wall

ADD:
-1 phase shield
-1 quint  (the goal is to ESTABLISH a team.  This will help you KEEP the creatures you play)

good luck :D

I had this idea right from the start :D
I have a devourer deck that works very well but it only did well early on.
It had 6 steals and 6 devourers to immediately control the opponent's quantum input.
Late game was different because the opponent usually had time to build their supply up and i was limited to stealing the max 6 pillars/towers and at max 6 devourers sucking up 6 quantum, not much.  Fractal changes all that by giving you a VERY strong mid to late game quantum control.

here is the deck mark is aether

This deck is about TIMING and manipulating the odds so you can predict and will get certain cards at certain times.
I think it can be agreed upon that even without fractal, the early game can be VERY annoying for opponents and very successful for you.  So getting and casting fractal early should not be the goal.  The goal is to use a combination of steals and devourers to control the game early.  Any threats that arise will then be dispatched with thunderbolt.
6 pest
3 steals
4 thunderbolt
thats 13 cheap cards that can be used early to control.
I would have added more steals but i wanted to keep deck at 30.
there are 7 obsidian towers so getting one in your first hand is HIGHLY likely.
4 aether towers means you will get one by at least card 12/13 (thats 5 turns after opening hand) which is the perfect time to use fractal when you have stored enough dark quantum to drop a bunch of pest.  It is pointless to get fractal early when you cant use it, it is a wasted draw then.

Using my titan deck as reference, i find that in a deck of 30 cards, if you have four of a card, the odds are VERY high that you will draw at least 1 by turn 5 (12/13 cards in which translates to 18 cards left in deck)  I find that to be the perfect time to use fractal.

This deck is currently 9-0 vs lvl 5s (even though they get X3 quantum).  thats 100% so far.  I dont try or care about lvl 3s  8)
I cant wait to try this pvp.  It will be evil.

Notice what turn it is and how COMPLETE deck control is already established.  Game over.  Even if i didnt get eclipse early, it is still game.

Deck Help / Re: how many towers in a speed poison?
« on: March 12, 2010, 06:51:32 pm »
play a couple of games with the set up you have.  When the match is over, look at how much quanta is left.  Do this about 10-15 times.
If you end up with tons of quanta left(in the 40s/50s) and very often, then you can reduce the amount by 1.  Now try again 10-15 times.  Depending on the outcome, adjust the amount accordingly.  If you have tons of quanta left over at the end of the game, it means you drew a few too many pillars/towers instead of other useful cards.  You should aim for the amount of left over quanta to be in the teens.
Have you played starcraft? In that game, one strives to use all their resources, and any left over is considered bad.  Same concept can be applied here.
I play a lot of people who draw like 6 pillars/towers in the first hand, which is VERY bad.  It means the deck is not balance.  first hand should be like 2-4 pillars/towers.
good luck! 8)

the left paw is suppose to be that way, he has a posture similar to a bull dog.  :)
And the shading, well i dont really know what i am doing when it comes to coloring things on a computer.  I know less when it comes to coloring things on a random program online.

this was a VERY fast sketch.  Please color for meh ;D

Deck Help / Re: need help building AI5 / FG killer deck
« on: March 11, 2010, 08:07:16 pm »
OK, you have a great start to an ai5 farmer.
Lets trim the deck down a bit. its a bit chubby.

remove
-1 steal
-animate weapon (if you make it to the point where you need to rewind creatures, it most likely means that you dont need creature control (owl eye) anymore)
-2 golden hourglass (its not good when you have like 2 extra in your hand)
-1 or 2 bonds (you will be low on life quant and you dont need that much)
-6 pillars (again, you will not need that much)
-1 elf (not needed)

13 cards gone!
now add:
-1 RoF
-2 quints

that makes 40  8)

Some key cards to consider:
-Quint
-PA
-more hourglasses

You have many cards there that you may or may not get to use.  That relies to much on random chance than a planned strategy.  Although it is good to plan for all scenarios, it ultimately weaken the rest of your deck.

i will quote myself again:
The less cards you have, the more predictable and consistent a deck becomes.  Consistency in a deck will help you determine whether a deck is successful or not.  Some decks are consistently bad (needs to go back to the drawing board) while others are good (needs minor tweaking).
A lot of beginners seem to make the mistake of just throwing a bunch of useful/powerful cards in a deck.  When they lose to me they wonder why? :))
One must grasp the concept that:
-Adding a card to a deck reduces the chances of drawing a different but equally useful(relative) card.
 ;D

I find that time mark help with my card drawing because its nice to know that i can always use at least 1 hourglass.  I have 4 hourglasses in my rainbow.  Very helpful
