Gravity Mark, Time Factory x 12, Time Pendulum x 4, Deja Vu x 2, Procrastination x 1, Reverse Time x 2, Golden Hourglass x 2, Eternity x 1, Sundial x 1, Scarab x 6, Precognition x 2, Pharaoh x 3

Today I was fortunate enough to get Time Factory as my oracle card, so I decided that I wanted to put my Pharaohs to good use, and thus created this deck -- Pharacle, a blend of Pharaoh and Oracle. I apologize if I messed up creating this thread somewhere, this is the first deck I have posted; all in all, I'd love to hear feedback!

I really like this deck. However, since I don't have arsenic, I use my Druidic Staff; I also add in a deflagration and a lava golem. I experimented adding in a Quintessence and a Sanctuary, but I found that you could only play them about half the time you got one, so I ended up taking them out. Despite the fact I took them out, I did find sanctuary useful against discord and black holes; I also found quintessence quite useful for protecting a Forest Spirit or Lava Golem that was getting rather strong. Again, thanks for making and sharing this deck!

Pre-Smithy Ideas / Dust storm | Dirt Devil or Whirlwind | Hurricane
« on: August 11, 2011, 06:30:43 pm »
We always hear complaints (or make them ourselves) about how the luck of the draw can virtually make us lose a game. Thus, I thought, what if there was a card that could help make it easier for us to implement strategies?

So I came up with Dust storm!

When you play dust storm you first get to see the next four or five cards in your deck in the current order that they are in and get to rearrange them how you'd like. It'd obviously be a spell card, and it would definitely need to cost a bit of quanta or deal damage to, destroy, or cause random effects to some or all of your own creatures. I also thought that another thing that could at times be helpful and/or damaging to the player who uses this card is that they have to discard two cards from their hand upon using this card, though that would probably put too much effect into one card.

Dust storm would be a time card, though it could also be made into an earth card or renamed to Whirlwind and made an air card. While I think it'd fit best under time, it is possible that time already is a bit OP'd when it comes to drawing more cards, so adding it to earth or air might make things a bit more balanced in that area. Dust storm could be upgraded into Dirt Devil and Whirldwind could be upgraded into either Hurricane, Tornado, or Typhoon; upgrading it could either make it cost ever so slightly less or make it apply to one more card so instead of seeing and manipulating the order of four or five cards, you would see and manipulate the order of five or six cards.

Anyways, I'd love to hear some feedback, ideas for improvements, or if this is just a plain bad idea. Thanks!

I would suggest compiling/creating a series of cards:Weapons. Imo, they are the least likely to be put in the game(excluding nymphs, marks, and elements.) because there are only one for each element. So compiling the best of the current ones in the CIA section and creating some that you think would be better or for those elements for those that have no ideas currently.
Just my 2 :electrum worth.
Interesting Project. I like the idea and will start it soon. (provided enough other members support the idea)
If you mean coming up with a second "rare weapon" for each element, then I like the idea.

Politics / Re: My view on abortion, and both parents rights to the baby.
« on: August 09, 2011, 05:16:39 am »
So, basically the way I see it is that claiming that the father should have a 100% say completely ignores most of the arguments brought up in other aspects of the abortion debate.

1) Rape.    Should a man who rapes a woman, impregnating her, be able to say that he will not allow her to have an abortion?

2) Health of the mother.             Say a doctor has determined, with enough certainty that it rounds to 100%, that is the woman goes through with the pregnancy, it will kill her.  If the man decides to forbid the abortion, that would be akin to killing her, would it not?    Even if you claim an abortion is murder, I would argue that one cannot choose to kill a mother to save a fetus, even if one considers abortion to be murder.

This is me ignoring the theme of this post and just making the normal pro-abortion argument. I am wondering how you address these two points.
The child never committed rape. Why should an innocent child be murdered for the acts of his father? Why does the mother have the right to kill someone just because someone else did something horrible to her? If someone shot me in the leg, does that give me the right to go beat on someone else's head with a club? I think not. Rape is not a viable reason for abortion.

As for the health of the mother, having an abortion to save the mother's life is hardly different than a mother using her child as a shield against a crazy gunman. Would you believe that to be okay? Rahter, an operation should be performed to attempt to relocate the fetus so as to save both mother and child. If the child happens to die during the procedure, at least the full intent was to save it.

To the point of the question, since both parents had an equal hand in the creation of the child, they should both have equal rights to carry it to term or demand such. Courts always rule in the best interests of childern in custody and similar family cases, why not here too? Isn't the best interest of the child in this case to bring it to term? Thus, if either parent desires the child to be brought to term, then they should have the ability to do so. That is simply maintaining judicial consistency as far as I am concerned.

The value of the child is the fact that it is a person; life begins at conception. If you believe it beigns at another point in time, then you are already on a slippery slope for defining life in cases such as comas, sleep, and other such statuses.

The prism thought did give me an idea.
and this is perfect for it. http://www.sxc.hu/photo/946951
Normal:
It could cost 6 :entropy to play it, and it would cost 6 :light to use.
Effect: "Over the next 2 turns, half of the damage dealt to you will be dealt to your opponent in the form of immaterial damage"

Upgraded:
It could cost 7 :entropy to play it, and it would cost 7 :light to use.
Effect: "Over the next 2 turns, 75% of the damage dealt to you will be dealt to your opponent in the form of immaterial damage"
