Buff This Card! / Re: Upgraded Pendulum
« on: August 18, 2011, 11:01:41 pm »
Yeah I think even I have heard this idea on occasion before. As Eva said, though, the instability is a factor in pendulums. It's kind the biggest thing separates them from pillars. It's a good idea, but then it takes away that aspect of the game which I've always quite enjoyed balancing decks quanta with pendulums.

Congrats from a guy who disappeared for awhile. I take it this means you're still as awesome as ever.

I was hoping for another tie breaker round. Grats on second, Memory. Better luck next time Kuro, unfortunately someone has to be last.

Not an interesting game, it was a mirror match. Both playing EQ decks. Mine had more emphasize on the Graboids than EQ, and I had a really amazing hand with following draws, while Kuro was stuck with nothing but quanta for a long while. Simple out damage.

Yeah, my starting hand was one unupgraded pendulum. Two heals. Two precog. Two dragons. One procrastination.  I managed to get down to my last 15 cards with one 4 quanta producing cards. I actually still could have pulled off a victory since he lacked death quanta, except he had his single Eternity in play.

I ended up getting just 2 of the frogs and all my heals. Just couldn't do anything with no time quanta. Basically, what I had left, was; 15 cards. 4 Frogs. 10 Quanta producing cards. precog.

Edit: Actually, I changed the deck before we played. I took out one time factory for an eternity. So I had 9 quanta producing an eternity, 4 frogs, and a precog left.

Very close games, the first 2 games I was screwed over by RNG terribly and wondered why I was even playing Elements at 4AM :/

First two games I used this deck;

Code: [Select]
5rg 5rg 5rg 5rm 5rm 5rm 5rm 5rm 5rn 5rn 61q 61q 61q 61q 61q 61q 624 624 624 624 7q0 7q0 7q0 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri
First game I had nothing but pends for a long time, with maybe one factory. Low quanta+high cost creatures doesn't go well. Almost won this with lightning at the end, but was one short of killing him with creature damage.

Second game I never got a second silence until he had an Eternity. He had a Procrastination as well, so I needed 2 so I could play Anubis+silence+Silence next turn and wait for the delay to go away to use his ability, then start playing dragons.

Third game

Code: [Select]
5c2 5c2 5c2 5c2 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rj 5rj 5rm 5rm 5rm 5rr 5rr 5rr 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 7ae 7ae 7ae 7ae 7ae 7ae 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri
Simply put, Heal beats out Pharoahs and scarab DoT, won this, score going 1-2.

Code: [Select]
5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rm 5rm 5rm 5rm 5rn 5rn 5rn 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 77a 77a 77a 77a 77l 77l 77l 77l 77l 77lHe played a Pharoah deck and got an early Eternity. I counted his quanta making sure I had what I wanted in anticipation of rewound creatures. Felt like I was playing 21 with all the counting. I won, 2-2

Code: [Select]
590 590 590 590 590 590 593 593 593 593 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rm 5rm 5ro 5ro 5ro 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 77j 7q4 7q4 7q4 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7riWe both kept our mark, I expected Pharoahs again. 4 or 5 turns into the game came out a Dune scorp. Near the end I misclicked and won with 1 HP- He had 30 health, I had 10 time quanta. I clicked an earthquake instead of dragon, double clicked cancel and evolved a graboid. He had 2 health, his turn game with 15 damage out to my 16 health. He didn't have another momentum, so I lived with 1 health and won the next turn.

Good games, Kuro. Least I won a single match up.

Yeah, I'm probably the worst with luck when it comes to elements...

Code: [Select]
5rm 5rm 5rm 5rm 5rm 5rn 5rn 5rn 5rn 5t2 61r 61r 61r 61r 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7riThis game could have been a deck out, except that the last 4 or 5 cards in my deck out of 7 were pendulums, ugh.

Code: [Select]
4vd 4vd 4vd 4vl 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rm 5rm 5rm 5rm 5rm 5rm 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 6u2 6u2 6u2 6u2 6u2 6u2 7ri 7ri 7ri 7riIt wasn't the poison that killed me so quicky, it was the scorp that went up to 5 attack and 5 HP off of a single chaos power. The 5 damage a turn was too much and made this game way quicker than it should have been.

Code: [Select]
590 590 590 590 590 590 593 593 593 593 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rm 5rm 5ro 5ro 5ro 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 77j 7q4 7q4 7q4 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7riI was really just afraid of miracles this game, he didn't have any apparently and I out damaged him.

Went with this deck again. Couple turns into the game, he plays a Fate Egg. I have a Rewind in my hand. I debate playing it and sending the Fate Egg to his hand to lock him for one turn. I don't do this, since as long as the Fate Egg didn't turn into Darkness, Time, Immortal or Phase Dragon, it would be a dead card. His turn comes, I hold onto the Rewind, I see the egg hatch, the border is time. "Oh well" I thought before reading the name, "Go- You have got to be kidding me" was the next. Didn't even have to read the card before knowing it was a nymph. Unfortunately this was the beginning of the end.

Yeah, intense matches.

Code: [Select]
590 590 590 590 590 590 593 593 593 593 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rm 5rm 5ro 5ro 5ro 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 77j 7q4 7q4 7q4 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7riI should have gone back to this deck, and I almost did in the last match; but when I clicked to wait and he didn't show for a bit, I was really worried he was going to see this deck coming, he was in my head, and I thought phase shields could beat out a lot of his decks.

Code: [Select]
5c2 5c2 5c2 5c2 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rj 5rj 5rm 5rm 5rm 5rr 5rr 5rr 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 7ae 7ae 7ae 7ae 7ae 7ae 7ri 7ri 7ri 7riHad all my life cards, and it was a pretty easy win with no immo'd deja vu's early on.

Game 4 I should have played my creatures better, but it didn't matter, in the end a permafrost shield was the end of me with the 2 blocking and freezing when I had his octopus delayed.

Code: [Select]
4vl 4vl 4vl 4vl 4vl 4vl 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rm 5rm 5rm 5rm 5rm 5rm 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 7n2 7n2 7n2 7n2 7q0 7q0 7q0 7qb 7ri 7riHe got the better starting hand, simple, I never got to play any cards.

Code: [Select]
5rm 5rm 5rm 5rm 5rm 5rn 5rn 5rn 5rn 5t2 61r 61r 61r 61r 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7riThis deck could have won if it worked quicker. Most for my quanta was at the bottom, and he had all 3 of his hourglasses speeding up his deck. Was really upsetting to see him play a hope, I was hoping he went with Empathetic bond over the hope, since I could have OTK him. Had 4+1 pend, the rest were near the bottom. Had like 10 cards left.

Like the invisibility, good mechanic. Only thing is it's a little weak to be useful at all. Not sure how you balance a card that can be invisible, it's a new concept and nothing to compare it to.
