can it be lobotimzed away?

You could make it so by granting target monster with the ability "Death Ward", which would deal dmg to opponent when that monster dies.

I don't get how this works, please elaborate

Basicly, plays a card from your hand, other than Mirror, without removing the card from your hand.

IE You play Mirror, target the Fractal in your hand and then it casts Fractal (Without taking the card from your hand). You then continue as if you had played Fractal instead of Mirror.

The card would allow you to get around the 6 of one type of card but at a hefty price.
