Game Suggestions and Feedback / Re: Cards that do not target
« on: July 28, 2010, 07:27:57 pm »
I don't remember who I got it from, but I always thought of immaterial creatures as existing in a different dimension and "phasing" to this one to attack, then quickly going back.
Spells wouldn't work because they were immaterial but shields would because they'd have to materialize.
Bad example would be, immaterial being a window. You'd be safe from projectiles (spells) but if you rolled down the window to punch a porcupine (Thorn Carapace), you'd still get a hand full of quills.

General Discussion / Re: Antimatter-Wrong time?
« on: July 24, 2010, 09:36:25 am »
Elements is a game of strategy, knowing when to or not to use cards, e.g not antimattering the first thing on the field every duel.
Should bonewall make weaker creatures attack before the heavy hitters?
Creatures and permanents have an order of action, the game shouldn't be changed because the OP has a trigger happy finger.

I wish I could change my vote. Voted for all 3's but taking a second look at it, I'd vote for Earth 2, Life 3, Aether 1, Fire

I'm not particularly fond of the aether pillars, but I love vrt's art.
Fire 3 is.. an improvement. It'd look better zoomed out so you could see the base and have embers instead of fire icons.
But in the end, I'd /really/ prefer a tornado of fire to a torch.

Patch Notes and Development News / Re: New art for towers/pillars
« on: July 20, 2010, 03:29:52 am »
Aw, CB! and others said most of what I wanted to say... but I'll do it anyways since I typed it out before reading.

I think some elements missed the point. Light, Stone, and Bone pillars have beautiful backgrounds that blend in with the theme and add a statement about the power of the towering pillars. While Burning, Emerald, and Aether have amazing art as well, the generic one colour background and stubby short look has the opposite effect about their might and sheer size compared to their classic version.

The latter look more like marks than anything. Classic pillars have a forest background while marks have a one colour background and round shape like the new Life, Fire, and Aether pillar art has. I don't think they fit as pillars but I really do hope the artist gets a chance to make a set of mark cards.

Is there any Quantum and Time pillars will get new updated art too?

Probably the least involved way of finding it but came across with StumbleUpon a long time ago.

I love my ice lances. They don't need a change. Sure, it doesnt win any awards for being the most damaging spell but it clearly was never meant to be. Their power is in their versatility, how they can be used to destroy creatures/Player's HP or stalling.

What does fire or drain do against flying titans? What happens if they dont have enough quanta to destroy a X/12 creature? At least ice bolt can stall them. If you have enough quanta to destroy those two then you're probably not too far away from being able to do it with ice bolt.

If you have a card that heals a monster for 8 HP and has a 30% chance of healing you for 10. Do you refuse to use it because Holy light heals monsters for 10?

If you take out the freeze ability, the card would be a lot less appealing and become more situational.

General Discussion / Re: "Airborn Creatures"
« on: June 07, 2010, 10:06:48 am »

So far "Ranged" and "Airborne" don't do anything except work as classifications for cards, if I'm not mistaken.
The new in development card "Wings" is the only card to take advantage of the two new passives but more are sure to come.

Card Ideas and Art / Re: Acid Rain | Acid Storm

Updated the wording a bit. Not really sure if the card is required to state its duration but basing it on the only example I have, sundial, I decided to leave it out of the description.

Unless I'm missing something here, the notes say it will not stack.

Water / Re: In Development: Steam Machine | Steam Machine
« on: May 31, 2010, 06:24:45 pm »
A giant terrestrial steam-punk robot full of water that you power by using fire to turn said water into steam wouldn't really fit with the aerial-esque theme Air has. Maybe a hot air balloon?

I can't picture this being Air/Fire since you need water to create steam, while not being able to say the same about air. Air's domain is air and gaseous substance, but I don't agree  that it has control over the excess product of water and fire merging. If you think it does, why not say most creatures belong in Air since they need air to exist, life due to the fact the majority are alive or for that matter be in the water domain since we're about 75% water and I assume animals aren't all that different.
