Patch Notes and Development News / Re: A few details about T500
« on: July 03, 2011, 10:59:08 pm »
Yeah. That's actually something I'm worried about; that the higher Leagues (especially Platinum) are just too frustrating to play.
It is a bit frustrating and there is no incentive to play against yourself and other people in the platinum bracket.

An idea I had to possibly fix this: What if your level not only determined the deck you can submit but also your options when you go fight against the T500. So you might fight against triple mark decks but at least you have a triple mark of your own. This seems quite exciting as it would really add another dimension to PvE deckbuilding.
I was thinking the same thing, but instead you gained a skill point for every two levels, so you play a little handicapped.

I would like to see more levels.  For example, add level 7 and level 8.  However this would require progression.   There would have to be another tier to upgrading or add some sort of 'gem' upgrade that permanently adds a buff on one of your cards.   Make it another grind though. So, the second tier upgrades are costly.

If you are too afraid that it will put new comers at a disadvantage, then you could nerf areas, such as the first upgrade or half-bloods.

This would probably require a PvP3.

I'm actually having very little success with this deck.  I end up skipping so many false gods that I've been hemorrhaging money and score... even against the supposedly "easy" gods.  And yes, I am playing each one correctly... and no, I haven't had repeated awful draws.

At this point I'm favoring the notion of relegating this deck to PvP and going back to my trusty Puppychow rainbow.
This is an upped card farming deck.  It is not a winning deck.  You are supposed to skip many gods.  Dream Catcher, Chaos Lord, and Rainbow are not easy...at least not for me (I don't know why they are in the easy/playable section).  I rather play Decay, Eternal Phoenix, and Ferox.  Neptune is possible, but it largely depends on luck and you need to leave the seventh spot open for a dragon.  I have beat him, but he is not worth it.

If you get the starting hands, then some FG's are automatic wins: DG, Destiny, Incarnate, Paradox, FQ, and Osiris.  If you are constantly losing against these FG's with good draws, then you are doing something horribly wrong.

If you have such tremendous success farming, then please post your stats for review.
I have not kept official stats.  However, I can tell you this.  My losses have sky-rocketed. When I farm with this deck, I can sometime lose a lot of electrum in a short bit of time, remain constant, or even gain electrum.  It depends on luck.  However, I ultimately gain upped cards this way.  I have won ~120 upped cards with decks in a short amount of time.

As Seravy said, this deck is about efficiency in winning upped cards.  It will not increase your score.  You will also lose a ton of electum at times depending on luck.

Nonetheless, you will gain upped cards in a very efficient manner.

I like farm decks. There are not many of them.  It was a sweet pleasure winning a Titan and Arsenic from someone.

I also have earned my weapons the hard way, but it is nice to see a farm deck now and then.

I love the Prince gif.  It reminds me of a time when I macked on this ginger (actually a day walker...but she was beautiful).  However, she had a huge boyfriend.

She liked me and Prince, but her boyfriend buried me into a locker and that ended that...well, it didn't.  I actually called her and told her about it....blah, blah, blah.....

Then I macked on a brunette and got the girl.

Yes, I am now trolling this thread since it is worth it.

i agree with antiderivitive, but if you are going to use that deck, then ad at least one SoG, so you can get masteries.
Shards are useless in that deck, unless you add about 3 or 4 and a miracle. Then the strategy slightly differs due to loss of drawing power.

Sure, you get more EM's, but you cut back on your efficiency.

Yes, there is a grind to this game.  However, there is also plenty of depth to the game, especially for the given amount of levels.

I am fairly new, but I will share some of my experiences, opinions and insights.  At first, I loved trying out new decks and playing them against the AI3.  I started with a mono life deck and then tried various other mono decks.  I also farmed AI5 (and T50 i think ???) with Essence's mono Aether Deck.

Then I started to build SG's rainbow for FG's. I had terrible luck and quickly became frustrated. Plus, I didn't understand the significance of the sundial nerf at the time.  Its a great deck, but outdated.  I got frustrated over this.  In fact, my first post on this forum was a suggestion that pillar upgrades should cost a 1k.  I was upset since I spent so much and didn't see a return.  However, some people still have great success with that deck.

Nonetheless, it is a great deck. It taught me the depth of rainbow decks.  Then I started farming AI3, T50, and AI5 with my own rainbows.

When I was sick of farming, I built this deck and followed its guide to the tee....well almost.

It is a very efficient FG farmer. Now, I have more than 120 upgraded cards.  However, I am getting bored of farming the same FG's with the same strategy.  I might start experimenting with my own rush's and rainbows.

I have also neglected PvP to the large part, which I might start getting into.  So, I still have plenty to explore.

Yes, this is a farming game.  It is frustrating at times.  It is also an in-depth game with much to explore.

Evolution and the origins of the universe are two completely different topics of study.  What you are doing is essentially making a logical fallacy to use the First Cause argument in order to advocate for your personal deity.   This is a very sophomoric God-of-the-Gaps arguments.

Salt does not "grow".  It is a chemical reaction.  To also let you know, people do not turn into pillars of salt.

As for your amino acid theory, read this.

thanks to all the people who helped me on this one. i got the deck and started battling some FG. and quite quickly i started to get some upgraded cards  (think a total of 8 now)  and upgraded more

Code: [Select]
5la 5la 5lk 5lk 5lk 5lk 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 622 622 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 6rn 6rn 7jp 7jp 7jp 7jp 7jp 7jp 80e 80e 80e 80i 80i 80i
thats what the deck looks like now :)
It is interesting that you upgraded pendulums over pillars. I never thought about that before, but it makes complete sense.

Anyways, I am glad you are having success with this deck. It is a great farming deck.  Simple, cheap, and effective.

General Discussion / Has scoring been nerfed in a patch?
« on: December 02, 2010, 10:22:52 pm »
I have about ~2,000 wins and ~1,1000 loses.  My score is ~24,000.   I went against someone similar in absolute numbers in the T50 and their score was about ten times mine.   I forgot who it was, but I don't see how this is possible.

Additionally, simply looking at other's wins/loss ratios and comparing them to mine, they still have scores about 10 times as mine.

Am I missing something here or am I doing something wrong?

11
well, duh... one is not enough to make much of a difference I usually play with 3 or 4... see how i typed "SoGs" instead of SoG?
Yes, I did notice.  It is obvious that you didn't notice my clarifying question.

Quote
also, SoG are the top priority to FG, so it will protect ur lobo somewhat
If they are the top priority, then why am I having tremendous success farming them without SoG's?

12
SoGs are worth it, after u got ur core cards, aka lobo, hope, RoL, and fractal...
How is a SoG worth it?  It removes drawing power and it doesn't save you at all.

Are you playing with many?  Because I have only played with one and don't think it is worth it.
