When should I stop farming AI3? v1.29 https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=37056.msg464988#msg464988

v1.29

I read the tutorials and made a couple different AI3 farming decks since I'm here for fun.  Supposedly one way to do it is make 5-10k electrum, upgrade and farm FG.  Is that it or should I do something else?

In general - When do I start farming AI4 if at all, FG, or arena? I've got about 2k electrum currently.

Any advice would be appreciated

PS - Posting this again since not every tutorial/post has a version on it so its a bit confusing.

AI4? Not many people do AI4. Generally after you feel comfortable beating down AI3, go to silver/gold. The rewards are much better there. As to when to farm FGs, wait until you get a FG farmer like rol/hope, flay em, liquid antimatter, or instosis.

Actually you can do what you want :p AI4 can be killed with a fully unupped deck like fire stall or monoaether. For FG you can use LA (Liquid antimatter) a deck with antimatter + liquid shadow, I guess you can find it in the forum.
Then you can try semi-upped FG farmer like RoL hope or Flay them (look through the forum to find them too).

The liquid antimatter on the wiki is one of the few splurges I did.  However its not that effective as I had hoped in AI4 and FG (spent too much trying it).  When should I go to silver/gold?  Is there some eletrcum/score/deck suggestion?

+ 1 for liquid antimatter. I don't know how you were using it, but it is much more effective than regular ai3 for cash, at least when I used it. With a normalized win rate of 20% for FG's, you shouldn't have too much problem. I suggest you give it another try, but this time red the thread carefully and learn the strategies, which gods to skip etc. Sometimes you need to skip 8 gods before you reach a playable one. I don't recommend you to farm ai4 - the rewards are too low for the time it takes to kill them.

For silver/gold, JMZ classic is a good deck to use, but it is compleatly upped. I'd stick to FG's, perhaps farm with liquid antimatter untill you have enough money to upgrade 6 supernovas, 1 siluarian dragon, 4 electrum hourglasses (if you get these cards from FG's, don't sell them). Then you can farm unupped 4 shards of readiness from the arena to build a partially upped instosis. Once you start farming with intosis, you should be able to finish upping it in a day, and obtain enough money for another fully upped deck in another day.

I don't recoment Rol/Hope beause the cards it uses are difficult to reuse in other decks and pretty much fixes the immediate future of your elements career to aether/light. Instosis' spernovas and electrum hourglasses are much more flexible.

I read the page, I just couldn't stomach the variance and the 30 electrum cost per attempt.  I'll probably get more electrum to deal with the ups and downs and try again.  Thanks, I'll do that then Instosis (drooled over the win rate on the wiki)!

Followed the article.

1 hour:
9 attempted fights --- 4 easy, 5 'playable', didn't count the ones skipped (they were under the 'skip' label)
6 wins --- 3 easy, 3 'playable'
-208 electrum
2 rare cards from the spinner.

I'm assuming I'd have to sell these to make up the difference for the gain?  Though that article telling you never to sell cards rings in my head, but I suppose its faster to sell these now and upgrade to instosis asap.

Anyhow, it works, thanks for the advice!

Yep. Basicly, keep upgraded cards till you need $ to continue fighting AI5.

In which case you never get enough to buy a better fg farmer :P..

No; that guideline of never selling any upped cards isn't really good. You should sell them if it enables you to earn cards faster (thus sell them for a better FG grinder like instosis/rol hope).

a better strategy is to first calculate how much money you need to buy a deck, such as a half upped instosis. Then you can keep your cards untill you need to sell one to continue fighting. Once you have accumulated enough cards, you can then sell them all at once to get the deck you want. That way if you randomly want to use one of your upped cards, you have the opportunity to do so.

- That's what I find strange. With 20% win rate, your expected income is  0.8*(-30)+0.2*(60/2) = -18 electrum per game. That's negative.
