upgraded mutation vs upgraded fallen elf

mutation and fallen elf ability do the same thing. This is usually used on your enemies creatures because theres a  chance to kill or turn an upgraded monster into a random unupgraded monster.



improved mutation and fallen druids ability do the same thing. This you almost never want to use on your enemy, the monster cannot die as a result and will be turned into a random upgraded monster.

Especially with a 10/14 dragon with freeze

is there a difference between the effects?

the improved mutation card reads:
Mutate the target creature into a superior mutant

the fallen druid card reads:
(1 Life quanta): Improved mutation.
Mutate the target creature into a mutant.

the only word that's got me is superior mutant in the improved mutation card, and whether than means something more than a mere mutant.

Oh yes. The Fallen Elf mostly gives you mutations; sometimes kills your card; and sometimes gives you a card with a random power - say, a dragon that can also devour your enemy's cards. The Druid is much better - every card he gives you will have a special power.  It's a lot of fun to play.
