HOW TO PREPARE FOR A TOURNAMENT if you're plastiqe
  • Glance at tourney rules earlier in the week.
  • Decide if it is worth it to stay up late/wake up really early/rearrange your weekend plans.
  • Show up 5-10 min before the start and speedbuild some decks.
  • Offer ritualistic animal sacrifice to RNG gods.

1.Read rules
2.Show up in time
3.Speedbuilt decks a couple of minutes before start
4.Speedbuild counter decks during matches when expecting something specific
5. ???
6. Profit!!! (mark)

That has been my algorithm for every tourney that I won.

While I don't approve of the last point, this is pretty much what I do too.

A series like this for some unofficial tournaments could be  beneficial, too.  A veteran could set up an unofficial tournament with whatever card kust, then think about how they'd play in that tournament, and then let the new players try it out and see what they come up with, have them post their decks and how they did, and everyone could throw in feedback and criticism and stuff.

I like this idea and think it could be helpful for newer players. Maybe it could be something in the rebooted Mentor program.

Well, the final part is up. Hopefully it's been helpful to some of the newer players out there. If anyone else wants to comment on the meta for the tourney and what kind of decks they think would work better, feel free to share your comments. Also, feel free to make critical comments about my decks and strategic thinking. I'm not enough of a pro to be above taking some good advice.   :)

Only 3 things I recommend are as follows:
1) Get other pros to help you ^^. Get people that play a lot of these PvP Tournies like Jenkar to give their opinion on each of these steps, for instance, what would Jenkar had done had he seen these restrictions. Would he have built these same decks? Would he just skip over step 2 and go to step 3 by just looking at these?
2) Get the opinion of some of the other people that played in the tournament using these rules.
3) Offer Discookies while performing 1 and 2.

Virgins. Lotsandlotsandlots of virgins.
I prefer fasting and then sacrificing what would be my meals. I don't think the RNG goddess likes virgins as offerings anyway.
My 3 game-modification principles:
1. If it ain't broke, don't wreck it.
2. Simple fixes for simple problems.
3. Remember to fill in the holes.
