Title: Flashpoint
Post by: kirbylover314 on January 01, 2021, 11:46:52 am
I'm sure many of you have heard about Flashpoint and its whole Flash archival project. It does have EtG added as a curated game and I figured that I could summarize what you can and cannot do with it.

1. You can play the AIs. However, you can't play Arena.

2. You can't spin the Oracle.

3. You can save a local copy of your collection (and your score).

From the notes on the archived version of EtG:

Quote
Only singleplayer stuff works. Login with any username and password to save your progress; savedata is stored in the Server/(htdocs/cgi-bin)/www.elementsthegame.com/saves folder to your username.

Going through the save file we see this:

You can get pretty much all of this by looking at the dev7.php file when you actually run the online version of EtG via devtools.

With luck you can play with your nymphs and marks and the rest of your collection. Note that since your score and electrum are also in the save file, you can change that too, if you care about that sort of thing.

Note that, without doing this, if you were to just run archived EtG you would start on a completely fresh account.

Also worth pointing out that you can have multiple accounts by simply using different usernames on the login screen, so if you have more than one account that you might want to save, you can do that.

I don't quite understand, but I see why the game can still open both in the main site and in Kongregate.

How exactly can I find the dev7 file on Internet Explorer? I tried making the devtool look like the screenshot you posted, but I couldn't find anything

Not the devtool, the .php file

Have the devtools open on the networking tab before you login

Oh, gotcha! Now it worked for me :)

Although... Now that I have the data, I can't seem to find the save file. I searched the filepath that OP gave, but there was only a "decks7" text file and an "elt1327" shockwave flash object. Even in appdata, there wasn't anything stored under my username... I tried pasting the data under or instead of the data in decks7, but that didn't work either.

You wouldn't happen to know how to solve this issue as well, would you?

Edit: Nevermind, all it took was a manual search!

Hi guys, been trying to fiddle with this so i can fire it up for nostalgia every once a while but obviously cant access my accounts anymore to get the juice (cards).

anyone that can copy paste a complete collection of cards (the decka part from the dev7.php file or the locally stored  save file from flashpoint)

or just point me to  a way to convert the 3 digit card code from the game to the 4 digit used in the save file so i can manually add crap.

Cheers and happy new year

3 digit code is base32, 4 digit code is base10

In javascript: ('000' + (parseInt(code, 32) - 5000).toString()).slice(-4)

edit: updated with vagman's fix

The code serprex posted  is correct but as i found out, its not decimal that the save game accepts.

for example . fractal upped is 80i in game which should translate to 8210 decimal

game accepts it in the save file as 3210

so subtract 5 from the first decimal digit

So for your own sanity, add yourself a trillion electrum and just buy/up the normal cards and just manuall add the rares/marks/shards etc.

for those with no coding knowledge that cant use javascript, use this
https://www.unitconverters.net/numbers/base-32-to-base-10.htm

and subtract 5 from the first from the left decimal digit result.

To add a card,continuing my fractal example above you should paste the savegame code of the card followed by three digits which mean how many cards of that type you added.

So if you wanted to add 6 upped fractals then the code is 3210006 which you should paste at the end of your decka part of your savegame txt.After doing that you should increase the number of library cards by how many you added,in this example say you had 334 cards before,you should change that to 340.

Perhaps I'm missing something obvious, but I can't figure out how to save progress. The "File" menu doesn't have any such option that I can see.

This is quite brilliant. Elements is playable on Flashpoint though only against the computer which doesnt bother me. I realize Arena is not working, however, wouldnt it be possible to have Arena point to a local file and populate it with pre-maid decks? That would be incredible! Perhaps the community can get involved again creating decks to add in Arena. One can always wish.

Vaggy, those Holy Cow and Ash are giving unupped cards, alright. However the Chimera adds upped.

Code for unupped Foil Chimera: 0340012

Lazy version for those who need all of these rare/extra cards (edit your txt found in Flashpoint\Legacy\cgi-bin\www.elementsthegame.com\saves\yourloginname.txt).

Code: [Select]
decka=x08210120613012034001223400120033012001101200120120013012001401200150120016012001701200180120019012002001200210120022012012001201300120109012022001202300120210012032001203300120308012042001204300120407012052001205300120509012062001206300120607012072001207070120730012070801208200120810012083001208090120920012093001209090121020012101201210300121008012112001211300121107012
deckan=636

(This way you just add these cards, it is preferable to start with this, otherwise you might delete your already existing cards.)

Since this thread got revived, want to also say that Flashpoint now has a functional Oracle

Technical notes: Spinning will add a 'lastoracle' file in your saves folder with the current time, which will lock the Oracle on that save until 24 hours have passed. If you want to unlock Oracle earlier, for example to emulate the behavior of the original game, you can simply delete the file
