I made an alternate PvP server since openEtG-vanilla (http://etg.dek.im/vanilla) would need Zanz's explicit permission to be officially sanctioned for use in events when PvP is down (ie this has been discussed with Higs)
It functions through Fiddler to redirect PvP requests to elementsthegame.cloudapp.net, hosted by hainkarga
Fiddler also removes unnecessary POST parameters like your password, so no need to worry that this is actually me scheming something malicious. In Rules there's the option "Redirect to Elements The Proxy" which disabling will then use original servers, but still filter POSTs
- Download Fiddler (http://www.telerik.com/download/fiddler)
- Start Fiddler. Open the rule editor with Ctrl+R (Answering "no" to downloading script editor will open in Notepad)
- Replace script with content at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/serprex/elementstheproxy/master/CustomRules.js
- Begin PvP Duel search. Fiddler should output PvP requests with lime green backgrounds when redirecting
NB both participants must be using this, & this should only be used for PvP Duel
There may still be kinks, but I've been able to successfully have a few matchs back to back with it. Please report any problems (or successful series)
PS There's a Fiddler Chrome app: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/fiddler/hkknfnifmbannmgkdliadghepbneplka?hl=en (Have not tried it myself)

Tested today with Submachine. It's pretty simply to install/use. And it worked fine.

I got this error message when opening Fiddler after downloading the script. Does that mean I did something wrong?

Copy/Paste, don't Save As (evil browsers, making everything be HTML)

I saved from github, yeah.
Got it working now.
How do I turn it off if my opponent doesn't also use proxy? Just close Fiddler?

Kinda necro kinda not.
With the rise of popularity with spectate in War i have a warning to issue;
When using Fiddler be careful about using it on a work computer. On the computers at my work, you cannot make changes to the proxy, but Fiddler can. So it effectively lost me access to the internet. I had to re image the computer to fix it, meaning i lost everything on there, all my PvP decks, my dumb memes that i didnt save to imgur etc. Obviously the bosses and IT didnt know what Fiddler was and didnt even bother to check it out, they just made me re image, which is a pain in the butt. So, just a warning if you try to use it on a work or school computer.
