zanz: I had a few companies contacting me, one worth mentioning would be Zynga (http://www.zynga.com/); someone from Zynga was very impressed with Elements and called me. But at the HR department some other guy wasn’t really impressed with my resume since most of my work experience is actually in chemical engineering (we will leave that detail of my existence as a mystery) and had nothing to do with game design. I never got an interview, but I am quite sure that if they did actually interviewed me I would be working for them now.
I would consider this a fortunate thing IMO that you did not get an interview then. Research them a little bit. The guy who runs Zynga is on the "shady" side to put nicely and to make a buck will do anything. They are notorious for stealing any idea and using their lawyers and money to push small companies aside.

Awesome interview. I look forward to the new ideas in development -- factions, quests and customizable pets are exciting things to think about.

The customizable avatar is a nice idea too -- more so to give an idea what each Elemental looks like (Zanz gave us three samples). I like what other people have said regarding this. The only other idea I have is that each Elemental's appearance may be affected by what cards are in the player's deck (at the time) or even size -- decks that use Graveyard/Boneyard make the Elemental have more bones/animal remains in structure, whereas 30-card decks will make the Elemental look small.

At any rate, the idea gets complicated when you add that players (that's us) use different decks to "grind" with. I may have chosen Darkness, but I grind using Plastiqe's Lava Rush deck (AI3. And I use either a Vampire Stiletto or an Arsenic for my personal...touch). So...in closing, I am curious how factions, pets and quests turn out when the player (or Elemental) chooses tools not normally used to complete such tasks.
