Why do weapons attack last?

I've never understood this. I've been playing for a few years, and the weapons will ALWAYS attack last, unless you use the flying weapon upgrade on them.

In fact, it specifically attacks AFTER you generate your elements from your Pillars.

What is the point of this?

Weapons are permanents. Permanents act after creatures. The order of action in a game is important to plot out for avoiding bugs and ensuring effects take place when intended.

In the case of weapons, it actually only helps since Fahrenheits in the weapon slot may do more damage thanks to the accumulated .

The only reason it would be better for weapons to attack before is vamp stiletto and emerald staff healing just the necessary for an EM in the last turn. The game is balanced for winning, not for gaining extra electrum for EMs. That's also why creatures with Vampire (also from Liquid Shadow) attack before healing (say, if the opponent has 10 HP and you have more than 90 and attack with a dragon with Liquid Shadow you don't get the EM)
