Incompatible Browser Warning BEFORE you Login. https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=15211.msg194289#msg194289

Assuming this issue is still valid:  http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,7057.msg83476#msg83476

Then I would suggest that on the main login page, before you log in, that there be a warning about Opera browser (and anything else that would cause an issue like this) being incompatible with Elements, and an indication that it will cause errors and a ban.

Detecting the browser type and not letting Opera user login should be added as well, but since you can alter how your browser version is reported to a website, there should also be a message on the main page.

Currently the only way to know of this issue, is to login to the forums, and dig it out of the troubleshooting section.  That is NOT the kind of thing that a new player is likely to do BEFORE playing the game.

A simple change like this should help reduce bans and database issues.  Reducing frustrated players (increasing playerbase is good), and helping Zanz out.  Every ban that we can prevent, is one less email that Zanz gets, and one less thing he has to resolve.  The more developer time we can free up, the more time that can be devoted to actual game improvements.

What say you?

I think Opera issue was resolved. Opera received several updates since the "bug" was found.

I hope that is the case.  If it works now, then no problem, move along.  Going forward, I still think that any issues that might potentially get a player banned for something of this nature, should have a visible warning before they make an error that they are unlikely to know about.
