So... I finally beat a FG today that has -regularly- whooped my butt. 3 spins- Nada.

so it made me think.

Damnit! I deserve a prize for this!

Wouldn't it be cool if you received some sort of reward when a personal struggle is overcome? That would make the game rewards much more intimate.

Not a complaint!! Just a thought :)

It's hard to define "personal struggle". However, you could be rewarded more every time you defeat a FG for the first time in a certain week. Not too much, more like, say, 50 coins for normal win and 100 for EM?

isn't that what the reward is anyway? or are you saying in addition to?

I have no idea if this is a complicated code or not, I was kind of reflecting on Zanz's idea of making the Gods people insta-quit come up more often when I wrote this. And personal struggle would be a fixed value, not arbitrary at all. like: when you get thrashed by hermes (or whomever) 15 times in a row, then win, you win a prize. Maybe not even a physical prize- just some sort of props :)

If a player routinely loses to some opponent... then suddenly wins using the same deck, I'd say the player must have gotten extremely lucky. Why give an extra reward for that? They already get electrum, spins, and the satisfaction of overcoming a personal struggle. Whereas if the player though of a new tactic to use against the opponent and won because of that then isn't winning more often good enough of a reward?

In the second case an extra reward might be deserved, but the AI wouldn't be able to distinguish between the two cases anyway.
