I noticed this only recently, an upgraded firefly gives fire quanta and not light

As a dual life/Air deck user, the light gets photosynthesized into plenty of life quanta, yet is still balanced because of the card draws you have to get.

Please change things, so that the firefly stays with the same effect before and after upgrade. Making someone drastically have to change their deck when a card is upgraded is just stupid

It's not stupid, it just makes the FFQ deck more aggressive. You can pack permanent destruction, Unstable Gases, whatever. It's nice to have a cute little engine that fuels your queens, but it's more fun to kill your opponent faster. Fire does that better than light.

I believe Elite Firefly was made to give an Air player Fire quanta for Unstable gas. Various cards change mechanics slightly during upgrade like Dissipation Field. It gets worse for a Mono-entropy player once upgraded. Check the Wiki and what it shows on the upgrade screen before you spend the cash, the card might be better for you just the way it is.

Sundial in its time was hardly ever upgraded because the effect after the change had reduced its draw functionality in exchange for being free and people didn't need free they needed draw. Same in your case, you don't need fire quanta, don't upgrade.

That's not always true; upgraded Sundials work well in Time mark Rainbows that aren't running Miracle, as it frees up some of the important :time quanta to use for Hourglasses and also makes use of some previously unused :light quanta.

Kael is right about checking the upgrade screen carefully for the card text before you upgrade -- we don't want to spend 1500 electrums on upgrading a card we're not even going to use!

Firefly queen has been around long before unstable gas

and the unupped sundial was better than upped in rainbows before the nerf

The elite queen is just fine in my opinion

Meh, I don't know why we're talking about sundial in here, but upped Fireflies existed LONG before Unstable Gas. The upgrade makes the third element of the FFQ deck Fire instead of Light, obviously making it more aggressive. In addition, upped Fireflies do 4 damage instead of 3. These are all good things.

You cant complain, the upgraded Quenn makes them do 1 more damage and it adds a more agressive side to the deck. While it works with Unstable gas I still dont think they would be worth it to play in a Fireflies deck. The Upgrade is good. The deck is great. Firefly Queen is probably the best non-rare card in the game, dont complain.
