People are not allowed to make a lot of posts (non-spam of course) just for the sake of reaching 200 posts in the next 5 days?

because this
Quote
People have already been caught spamming to up their postcount for trials. It's sad that I need to remind people of this, but that behaviour is not acceptable.
is kind of implying that it is against the rules to do so just to be able to join the trials.  My point was, that if this is not a rule, then the above quote is unnecessary and people spamming the forum should be taken care of as any other spammer would be.
Everyone should know what spamming is, but what if someone were making actual posts, but a lot of them, that is spamming?  Maybe add in a time requirement as well, "have to have been registered on the forum for X amount of time", which would be a reasonable amount of time for one to get 200 posts and might lessen the spamming if that is such an issue.

One last thing. Some people might think they are not "worthy" of becoming a Master so they skip this event. Please don't do that. This is all just for fun, and shouldn't be taken too seriously. If you think this kind of event would be fun, I order you to participate. Like I always say, if you manage to take a title from that Master, that alone proves you have earned it.
@7wave, thanks for the useless post (spam, perfect example) and the private message directing me to a thread i already posted in : /

People are not allowed to spam to hit 200 posts.

Reading comprehension is important.

Even if they are posts relevant to the topics?  There is a difference between spam and making a lot of useful posts.  And all admins/mods always have their own judgments on what is or isnt spam on all forums, I like clear concise rules.  From my experience on forums, spam = needless posts.  Like 7waves line of smileys.

There is a reading incomprehension problem, did I not say posting RELEVANT things, but making a lot of posts.  If all my posts were insightful or helpful in anyway, and if all I did all day was post on the forums, I would not consider that to be spamming.  How about some actual clarification as to what the admins/mods consider spamming the forum, each have their own perspective, and it is different on every forum.

It's actually very easy to see who is spamming and who is not. A very common spamming technique is to open tons of card topics in tabs, and then reply to all of them along the lines of:

"I like this card"
"Very powereful card"
"This card needs a buff"
etc.

Posting lots of posts is not a problem, as long as the post have more than a couple of words, and new posts don't appear every 15 seconds.

I wish to publicly apologize to Ryan666. After reading through his posts more thoroughly, I have found that:
  • He does have 1-2 spam posts --but who doesn't?
  • He has more posts without content, but they are in the introductory section, and are better than half the posts there.
  • Most of his posts are actually legit.
Now, he is allowed to join any Trials he want, between Air, Light, and Water (the ones open and his original choice). If he joins Air, I will make an exception, and let there be 5 challengers. For PvP, there will be 1 more with 0 points, and for the votings I will normalize the results so they add up to 120%. The PoW phase will not be changed. Sorry for all the confusion, it's all on me.

are the higher-ups (and by that i mean SG) ok with this exception?
i mean, every trial so far is 1 master facing the best 1 of 4 challengers
it doesnt seem like huge now, maybe... but any exception will be referred to in trials to come

also, there are some posts that have been removed by moderator (daxx?), did you weight in those as well?

Ryan has joined Light, so it's all OK.

Whether Ryan participates in trials or not is xdude's decision. The moderation staff have taken the action we feel is appropriate to the situation. Let's keep further discussion to PMs. Thanks.
