What is a Competition Organizer?

Competition Organizers run and manage the Competitions section.

What do the Competition Organizers need to do?

• Come up with new competitions or resurrect fan favorites.
• Explain the rules where needed. If people have questions, we expect you to be able to address them in a mature and timely fashion, and provide any details in regards to rulings and requirements.
• Compile votes, going through the topic to create a final one where the votes will be cast. This means carefully looking at each participant's entry to ensure that they followed the rules, and regulating the poll(s) to ensure that the voting is as fair as possible.
• Have one competition running at all times. Card design is quite a popular type of competition, but we do need a variety of competitions to keep everyone's interest, and keep the downtime between competitions as minimal as possible. Having both the time and creativity to improve Competition rotation is recommended.
• Promote submission and voting threads in chat and on their threads.
• Design or locate suitable icons for competition winners.

Requirements:

• At least 100 forum posts.
• Being very active on the forum.
• Creativity to come up with different competitions.
• Knowledge of bbcode, formatting, etc.
• Ability to resolve conflicts between participants and maintain a cool and level head in order to make decisions objectively, as well as enforce your authority.
• Maturity and reliability.

Are COs allowed to enter competitions?

Yes, though you may want to discuss this with your fellow CO(s) before you actually do it.

If I recall, the general rule was as long as you aren't hosting it, its all good.

Hosting doesn't have an effect on whether we can compete in competitions right now. When we can't compete is when we can change certain aspects of the competition. For example, I won't be competiting in Card Design War 3 because I'll be hosting it and I'd have to choose artworks for every matchup, mine included, which creates conflict of interest. But I did host and submit to the Flag Design competition.

That being said, there's about six days left to apply, so please get applications in!
