Forum warning system explained https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=2521.msg20475#msg20475

We have a warning system where moderators give warning points to members who don't follow the rules.

Warning points
Minor infraction: 20 points
Medium infraction: 40 points
Major infraction: Permanent ban

Warning levels
21+ points -> you will be put on user watch list
41+ points -> all your posts will be moderated (your posts become visible only after being approved by moderators)
61+ points -> you will not be able to post

Keep in mind that other users can see your warning level.

How to get rid of warning points?
Your warning level will decrement automatically 1 point for every 24 hour period when you are not warned. This means that if you get warned for a minor infraction (20 points), and don't get warned again, your warning record will go back to zero in 20 days.

So far apart from one or two individuals, the community has behaved extremely well which is great. Lets keep it that way.

I've been trying to avoid having to do that for a couple of hours now but I guess I have to do it. :)

So, there's no such thing as permanent bans now?

Ah, yes.. the good old permanent ban. How could I forget that?

I guess I thought we were going to do that on a case by case basis. But that's not how it's going to be.

Hmm.. I need to rethink this system. Thanks for pointing that out.

When you can't post it is something like a ban. You only can read then.

I think perm bans should be not given that easly. First some temp bans, but when the persond doesn't learn it, the person will get a parm ban.

I changed the numbers in my original post. I might change them again.

We are not here to educate people and try to change their evil ways. We are here to build a nice little Elements community where people have fun and respect each other.

If someone for example posts child pornography here, he will be permanently banned for it. It doesn't make any difference if he later repents because his own previous actions took away his rights of being a part of this community.

There are very simple rules that everyone here must abide. Here is a rule of thumb:

If you do not want to get permanently banned, do not break the forum rules.

It's as simple as that. I would love to have a situation where we didn't have to ban anyone but if a person knowingly breaks the rules and disrupts this forum, he will be removed.

And one more thing.. Permanent ban from this forum doesn't restrict your access here. You can still read the forum as a guest but you cannot register or post.

I rewrote the rules to match this new warning system: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?action=rules (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?action=rules)

This kind of pornos will need a pern ban, but I'm thinking that a spammer first geta a temp ban for 1 month, when he spams again he will get perm ban.

Spamming is not a major infraction. It will become a major infraction only if the person is question continue to do it even after multiple warnings.

What, are you planning on getting banned? :)
