Personally, I'd like to start the event as soon as we can. At one part, I'd like to give as many people the opportunity to play, of course, but it seems the despite the 'high anticipation', we even have troubles to gather up all the 16 players (maybe some people get discouraged from the bulky size of the rules..). Extending the player count was really the suggestion of TStar and/or SG, which I also wanted to see in maybe the next Chess tournament if it turns out to be successful and (maybe) it'll be put on rotation. But also I'd like to do the first one as smooth as possible, to fix up unforeseen errors/flaws/problems, etc. on the fly.
Anyway, if nothing happens for awhile, and we have all 16 players ready, I'll lock the signups and start Round 0 (deckbuilding) that very moment. There are some people who are waiting for this since weeks/months now, and I don't want to kill the spirit out of them either.
