A Deckbuilding competitions. With some rules.
You have to use your Element you want to become Matser in as Mark. You need more cards of this Element then other cards. Also there some cardlimits or forbidden cards that you aren't alowed to use for this challenge.
And then they have to fight with this decks.

And maybe a quiz about that Element.

The quiz is childish. And the deckbuilding competition is not viable, cuz not all elements are balanced. Can an air mono deck even COMPARE to a good darkness one? No.

Your argument aganst deck building is not good, becaus you have to use maily the elment of that you want to become the master. So wehre will never be mono air vs. mono dark.
But there could be mono dark against duo dark/air.

So what exactly do you mean? If I want to become master of, say, aether, what will the competition include? Build a mono aether and fight what?

I'm using the idea of SG:
Quote
One option would be to appoint a Master for say 3 months at a time. After this time any member can challenge the Master and try to take his/her title. If they fail, the users gets to be the Master for 3 more months, etc.
So when you want to become a Master of Life you challenge the old Master of Life. Then you have to use a deck with more Life Cards then other cards and use the Mark. Maybe there will be some cards that are not allowed to use.
So then the one who wnats to become the Master of Life has to fight the master of Light with his Life deck build with this restrictions and the Master of Life has also fight with a deck made to that restrictions.

I hope it's understandable.

I like this idea; three months sounds about right, too.

So the first idiot who gets a nice hand challenging the old master will stay in charge for 3 months? Even if, say, the old one was much better at analysis and deckbuilding, and giving tips, and finding synergies, which is what a real "master" should do?

It sounds a bit wrong to me..

If the old master was that good, then they wouldn't need to be replaced. I think you're misunderstanding what Scaredgirl means by "challenge". More likely Scaredgirl will just appoint them on the basis of merit, not duelling success.

Well, if there's some sort of renewal match for the element, wouldn't it be a mono Air vs another mono Air, with say allowed quantum towers and maybe a few other element-less cards?

If its not a daily chore, I'll apply.  My reluctance comes not from being lazy, but that I'm a full time student with not so high grades at the moment. :P  I have no problems trying to keep the Death section up and running, and posting a few combos and/or tips and tricks isn't bad at all.

SG has never had such a dumb idea :) I just wanted to express my opinion about the dueling thing... it's not like I have something against Ohmega, let's make it clear  :P it's just that I think the randomness involved in any challenge involving a duel (sorry for the... uh.. involution? .. of my "speech") doesn't really measure one's skill (the kind of skill required to be an "element master").

But those are just my 2 cents.

YoYoBro if you actually read my post, you will see that I specifically said that this "challenge", whatever it will be, won't be only a PvP match.

I'd like to see a system where each element would have 8 challengers. Those eight would then compete in some kind of element related competitions so that in each phase, half of the challengers drop out.

8
4
2
1

Last man standing would then get a change to challenge the Master and fight for the title.

This last challenge could consist of.. say 3 parts, where both the master and the challenger collect points. Last part (4th) would be a best of five PvP battle, and both the master and the challenger could use only as many upgraded cards as they had collected points in the previous 3 parts.

So the more points you collect, the stronger your deck is in the final battle.

It's a bit complicated but something like that, if done properly, would be pretty cool.
