Hello everyone,As many of you know, I have been on the past two terms of council. In these two terms, I have been one of the more active members of council, frequently responding to messages and, when I could, proposing new ideas. I have given my credentials in the past, but I will give them again here for those who don't know me as well.I'm the Brawlmaster. While others have also been Brawlmasters, I have been guiding this event since Scaredgirl and previous council appointed me the position, and I have hosted four Brawl events thus far, each time making several improvements. I know how to manage large events and by necessity I am familiar with several sections of the forums including CIA, all off topic sections, and deckbuilding. While I'm master of none of these sections, having insight into each allows me to help represent their interests in council.I am also one of two Social Network Managers. While the position isn't one i which I've been as progressive or innovative, it does allow me to try and continue to grow the community and bring attention to important forum going's-on to people who can't log on or who don't log on every day but do check facebook or twitter. Being in council aides me in delivering the news quickly, and being in charge of these sites helps me relay outside information to council.I am quite active on the forums. I've involved myself in several events, including trying to get back into the PvP scene with Trenzalore and joining some Mafia games. Unless situations make it impossible, I log on every day to try and check in on things, and I usually lurk in chat. Since I'm almost always able to be on, I'm more able to quickly respond to matters within council. In the areas that I lack forum expertise, especially PvP, I am trying to improve. I'm joining more events now and trying to learn more about PvP so I can better make judgement on anything I would need to as a member of council.Above all, I am interested in keeping the forum alive and fun. I want to preserve balance between the sections so that anyone who comes here with an interest in some aspect of elements can contribute their thoughts to improving the game, even with game stagnation. I feel I've been a good member of council for the past two terms, and I will continue to try and serve the community as best as I am able. I hope these points and my previous achievements help prove to all of you that I am a good candidate.
Hi Spike,I'd like to put my name forward as an applicant for the 10th Elements Council.I have been interested in applying for a Council position for some time now, but unfortunately I didn't meet the 200 post requirement last time applications were open. Now that I'm a full member, I'd love to take the opportunity to apply for the position.As you know, I already hold a staff position as the most recently appointed Trial Overseer. I'm sure Zawadx can vouch for the dedication and amount of work I put into making sure Trials ran as smoothly as possible, especially during deck-checking for Phase 2. I've also demonstrated my dedication to the game by winning the 9th Trials of Darkness, beating long-time Darkness veteran ji412jo.As a council member, I'd be sure to get myself actively involved in discussions, and contribute any ideas regarding the management or improvement of the game and its community. I may not have been around this community for as long as some of the current long-standing veterans, but this game will always hold a special place in my heart, and like I said in my TrO application, I'd love to give back to the community that has given me such a rewarding online gaming experience. Hey Spike, and every other council members reading this. Discord here, a member on the forums basically active from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed, and someone looking to do my best to help the community in any way possible. For the time i've been on the forums i've always had an ambition to do something good for the forums. I've been waiting to see what position in staff i could be good at, and this oppurtunity somehow caught my eye. The time i've been here i have also matured from my old ways, and become a little more social with people on the forums.I would love to be part of council, and help the community even more if i get this position. I would like to give something back to the community by sharing ideas and opening up different activities to the community as well as helping out in any other way. I can be found on chat quite often and take part in discussions and events frequently.I hope I have managed to give something in return for all the community have given me, including my work in Game Suggestions & Feedback and the Leagues organizing, which I will continue working on.However I think there is more I can do and being part of the Council is the way to do that. Hello Spike,Here is my application for one of the 10th Council Positions.Spoiler for Hidden: Hello Current Council and Community Members,- I would like to apply for one of the 10th Elements Council positions by explaining what I have done and what I can bring to the next council. I am currently a staff member as a TO helping to continually create, balance, and run the weekly tournaments with my fellow TOs Ginyu, iancudorinmarian, and Zawadx. - I have participated in multiple PvP events ranging from major events like War or Trials, to weekly tournaments and several PvP events in between. I also have participated in multiple forums games from mafias to connect 4 to tag etc. I may not have done much in the competitions and CI&A sections, but I hope that working with the other council members will help me gain a better understanding of the other sections within this community.- I believe I fulfill all of the needed requirements, as I am a Sr. member(+500 posts), I have been a member of the community since late 2011, and that I have been reliable and mature in regards to my current staffing duties and can continue to do so if I was to become part of the council.Thank you for your time, and I wish you the best of luck in making your decision.--mathmanThanks very much,--mathman
Spike, Council, and Community,Let's be frank: With extreme delight I have served the community as NewsLetter Writer (one of the first official writers), GuildMaster (which I hope to see thrive), 6th Council Member, and currently Competition Organizer. I would like to serve on the Council because I've discovered a real joy through the hard work and effort found in competition submissions. When the community eagerly builds cards for each other's artwork, and we match governments to a deck's play style and theme...wow. This really says nothing about COs, but rather an excitement and vigor that define this community. An even greater feat would be helping this community continue to grow and to define itself--This is why I'm writing to you.Let's be frank again: People leave and return to this community all the time, but I've expended my one sincere departure and my one sincere return. Hello, everyone, I'm theelkspeaks! I've been a part of the Council for the past 6 months, and I'd love to continue helping the community on the council again. While being a member of the council, I continued being one of the members who writes the monthly newsletter, and continued working as Leagues Organizer, including putting together the new results grid in the official standings. I regularly update standings for many of the events on the forums, most recently 12 Lives and Trenzalore, and am generally extremely reachable. In addition to gathering community feedback to the current council, I helped to restart Guilds, and supported the revived Card Ideas and Art project.My frequent reading of the forums and presence in chat helps me to gather your feedback and read how the members of this forum feel we should progress, and I want to continue helping to make this community a better experience for everyone.
Hello there Council, Spike.I'm Tiko, a long time community member of Elements and most of you probably know-, or already has experiences with me one way or another. This is the very first time I'm applying for Council election, and while I considered it many times in the past, somehow I feel that the current stagnant and 'frail' state of Elements needs the most support it can get to outlast the hope of an update. And it'd be more than a pleasure to help out in this in any way I can.RequirementsAs far as I remember, I've registered on the forums somewhere around the end of War #1. Can't pinpoint that for sure.Sr. Member; not much of a spammer though.I hope I have proven these before, or have a chance to do so if necessary.Some things to considerI've tried myself out in many aspects of the game and the Forums, ranging from participating in many (grand) events and competitions to holding minor staff positions.I've made several side projects within the theme of Elements and helped out in/tested others.Since my registration, I never (officially) left the community for extended periods of time, nor I missed a single Oracle spin.I have a full time+ job, which leaves me with very limited time to stay online or to hang out in chat.My ISP is known to deny service for unannounced periods..Thanks for reading.Tiko

Greetings SpikeSpiegel and the community,I’m ddevans, and I’m writing to apply for the 10th Council. Previously, I’ve served in the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 8th Councils, as well as in the positions of Warmaster and Tournament Organizer. I currently work as a Competition Organizer, Chat Moderator, and Social Network Manager.In addition to those roles, I’ve become well-rounded in all aspects of forum life over the five years I’ve been present. I’ve never truly left, only briefly minimizing my activity prior to applying for the 5th Council, and generally I’ve been more active and devoted than the active member outside of that.Normally I’d write a sizable paragraph about something like corruption or unity and place it here, but I feel in this case it’d be better to defer to previous words of mine. As such, I direct you to my manifesto here, where I talk about the state and potential of the community, both on a global and personal level. Even though this was nearly three years ago, it is more clear and relevant than anything I could say at this moment.I hope the community sees me worthy to take the mantle of Council Member once again. Greetings, fellow Elementals,My name is Zblader, and I write this application today in hopes of further helping this forum as a Council Member. In terms of activity, I currently commit to this forum as one of the Curators of the Card Idea and Art section - if you take a quick look at the section, you will see new features like Weekly Challenges, Elements Cygnia, and completely reworked sections like the Crucible and the Project Factory that show what I am capable of doing for this forum with the proper time and resources.Beyond the Card Ideas section, I've worked as a Competition Organizer and an Arena Moderator, positions that have both taught me the importance of being familiar with multiple parts of the forum. As someone who previously worked on the 3rd and 4th Elements Councils, I have learned the responsibilities of committing to group projects small and big, ranging from the descriptions of the reputation bars to managing projects like Elements Monthly Newsletter (ref. May 2012). These experiences across the forum's lifespan have made me experienced with how various staff policies are handled and have also taught me a great deal about exercising fair judgement when confronted with any conflicts.Lastly, I continue to be active and invested in upcoming features for this forum, such as Guilds, which can be demonstrated by the presence of the Bunchie Peace Embassy. Dear Ladies and Gentlemen of our community,Now, after almost a year of full activity, I want to help this community further on to grow and give motivation for veterans to stay.While I will continue to do my job as a Tournament Organizer, I want to be a part of the Council to help keeping things going and inventing new ideas for events. My big goal is trying to bring up a new major event to add to the cycle (Trials, War, Brawl) with the help of the other Council member, but also feedback from the entire community. As there are already Single- and Team-PvP and Competitions, I intend to make it an Event based of some RP elements, where teams may team up during the game to fulfil certain tasks or to beat a boss, but in the end there will still be only one winner. It is planned to bring both PvP and competitions in, but nothing is set in stone so far.This will not only bring something new to be excited about (hopefully), but also lengthen the time until one major event re-appears, so they keep being special.Altogether, I am a very active and communicative person, so I am going to keep an eye for every Council project and discussion, as well as talking to the community as much as possible. I do also have several years of experience as a chat and forum moderator to do the kind of task objectively that isn't so fun.With kind regards,Ginyu
