Paradise Lost 3 - Game 1
You woke up in something that looked like a classroom. After deciding to join, you had gone to the place specified in the letter at the time also specified in the letter. You had met with 13 other people that had apparently also decided to join this "dangerous" game. And that's the last thing you remember. Your legs and neck were now strapped to a chair with a small computer display directly in front of you, and a large display at the wall ahead. Looking around you could see the other participants also strapped to chairs. Suddenly a voice spoke:
"Welcome to Paradise Lost! I am deeply sorry about your movement being restricted, but it is simply to ensure that you all will follow the rules of the game. Now when Paradise Lost has started, there is no turning back. No regretting. No surrendering. Only victory or death!"
'Death!?', you thought to yourself, and you could hear some of the others trying to get loose.
"There is no point in trying to break loose, but there is a simple way of getting released: Win. The rules of this first game is simple: You all start with 0 points. Your goal is to reach 40. You do this by each round submitting a number between 0 and 15, and you will then move that many steps closer to the goal". As the voice spoke, the big screen at the wall visualized the situation and the rules were typed out as they were explained.
"But there is a catch! Anyone that has submitted the highest number of points during the round will not move at all! And since we want an easy start for you all, the game will continue until at least 10 players have reach 40. When you have reached to goal, your straps will be released, and you will be free to leave to the place where the next game will be held. Good luck!"
Point Race - Round 1
Rules:
Each round you will submit an integer number between 0 and 15 (inclusive).
If you submit the highest number that round, nothing will happen to you.
Otherwise, you will move that many steps forward.
When you reach 40 (or more), you have won the game and can no longer submit numbers.
The game will end at the end of the round where 10 or more people have reached the goal or after 8 rounds.
Each round your submitted number will be made public, so that everyone can see the full standings.
You submit your number by PMing them to me. You are free to discuss any strategy or whatever in the topic, in chat or by PM (or any other means of communication).
