Aside from including your opinion about the matter, votes should have more incentive.

If this were integrated into the forum I have a feeling more people would voice their opinions in areas such as Competitions, Crucible+ ,etc. and a better view of the community would be obtained.

oooh, its a good point... but then  again people with low reputation (like me) will say "screw this, im not voting since i'm giving so little influence and any know player can litterally make my vote useless"
so i say NO to general community votes.

Posts (and votes if this is implemented) only form a backbone of your rep. In time the majority of your rep is theorized to be karma based.

Regardless, receiving a reputation boost from someone else can be difficult for some. Voting in the community, although not with your voice, is a way to influence the community via your opinions and thus should in a semantic meaning of the word reputation, increase it.
