cutting down on not-so-important threads

ive noticed that some sections have WAY too many threads. it gets annoying when i have to go through 11 pages of threads just to find an idea i like. there needs to be a sub-poll, if you will, that has a vote on how important the thread is. if it gets low scores after so many votes, it gets removed or put at the bottom of the section. i know this could offend some users, but enough is enough. im tired of the semi-cloned threads. it drastically increases the time i spend searching for things instead of finding them and posing decent feedback on the ones that realy matter.

Actually, the search function is very useful; you need to know how to use it properly.

For example, the default search will only search inside the current section. Then there's using the appropriate search terms, along with wildcards (*).

google is increadibly unreliable. and i fail to see the humor in that post.... i found nothing on that "let me google that for you' thing about this forum. a wild card can mean many different things according to google. so dont try and define something so VAGUELY.

Hey, it's not my fault you didn't take the time to actually look this up for yourself or even click the links that were provided. The first result on that lmgtfy is a wikipedia page detailing exactly what I was going on about, and if you'd read that then you'd immediately understand. I guess I'm sorry for not being condescending and making that a "I'm feeling lucky" search. There's no humour in that post beyond incredulity that you're apparently unable to look it up for yourself.

Please, next time, don't be lazy. And when people are trying to help, don't make out like it's their fault that you don't understand.

As you can see, there are these "rate this post" buttons on every thread. These can be used to rate individual threads. We will at some point install a pro version of this same plugin which will allow you to list all the top rated threads. This makes it easier to find the "important" threads.

We will never start to delete "less important" threads. Never.

And why we haven't installed this awesome pro version of the rating plugin yet? Because the guy who develops it hasn't finished it yet.
