Journey

The journey to Aurdinas is long and hard, and rife with dangers. Spirits were high when you set out, and as you left your country you were cheered on from all sides. However, the no-man's-land between your border and Aurdinas is not to be trifled with. Danger lurks in every shadow, whether that be bandits or some poisonous plant, and the morale of the troops are slowly decreasing. But you cannot possibly give up before you have even reached Aurdinas. You need to keep fighting, keep moving, and soon you will reach the land of gold!

Depict your team travelling across your country's unique landscape!
Shapeshifter | BASIC TASK
A Boggart is lying in wait for you. Boggarts are mysterious creatures - as soon as you look at one, it takes on the form of your worst fear.
What does this Boggart look like?
Goblin Attack | BASIC TASK
You encounter a horde of greedy-looking goblins on the road, hoping to steal your stuff!
The goblins want three things: they want something valuable, they want to eat, and they want to kill everything that's not made of goblin flesh.
Make a deck to kill, scare off, pacify or otherwise get rid of these goblins, taking into account at least one of these needs!

New Critters | COMBO TASK
On your journey you meet some strange creatures you have never seen before!
Enchanter: Create 2 or 3 cards to represent each creature that you met!
Scribe: Write what happened when your team met the creatures!

(Totally should have called this task Fantastic Beasts)
Low Morale Is A More Persistent Issue Than Expected | BASIC TASK
Lots of walking makes people sad. Create an easy game for your troops to play amongst themselves while walking, to keep themselves entertained!

Bonus Task (Rounds 1 and 2)
Emblem of Victory

Every member in the winning Team of Brawl will receive a snazztastic Forum Icon that sits underneath their profile picture on every post they make! Your task is to make this icon. Submissions must be 32x32 pixels and in PNG format. Note: The icon that wins this task might not be the one actually used for the reward. This will be at the Brawlmasters' discretion.

Brawl Round 2 Expectations
Royalty/Admiring the View – I want to see the landscape be distinct in some way, so a landscape that shows something unique to your team will probably earn some of my voints.
Bard/Shapeshifter – There’s a lot of different ways to approach this task, and I think any of several approaches can work – humor, surprise, showing some combination of different media, whatever you think will do well here!
Crusader/Goblin Attack – I want to see explanations for how well each card fits your theme, and I want a deck that seems viable for at least AI3 level of play.  Screenshots of victories not required but certainly appreciated, but good thematic coherence is more important than power level.  Originality may be rewarded.
Enchanter/Scribe/New Critters – I want to see a reasonably-balanced cards with good explanations for your design decisions.  What does each aspect of your card represent?  I want to see a well written story that ties the cards’ mechanics into flavor.
Wizard/Low Morale – Design a game that would actually provide some interesting decision making in some way.  This prompt is pretty wide open, but games that are too heavily games of pure-luck or pure-skill (i.e. no thinking, just execution) will not be favored by me. Attempting to predict others’ actions counts as strategy to me, and does not fall under pure luck.

Who wants to hear my weirdly specific voting preferences?

Royalty: Show me your landscape. Points for originality and quality of work.
Bard: I want deep. If you can scare me, you win.
Crusader: This prompt is specific, but open. Do something unexpected. I don't care if AI0 beats it every time.
Enchanter+Scribe: Give me some interesting creatures. Give me an interesting story. Simple.
Wizard: Realism is amplus. Is it feasible for your soldiers carry dice, cards? If I can play the game right after I read it in real life, that's a bonus.

Bonus: I want a nice, full logo that stands out. See Brawl 4's used icon. Check the difference between Brawl 5's winning icon and used icon to see the kind of change I'd encourage.
