I often find myself fighting the same opponent twice or even three times in a row in T50. In one session I also often play the same players from a rather small pool.

At first I thought this was coincidence but now I'm pretty sure it isn't. Can someone explain to me or provide a link were the mechanics of meeting a certain deck are explained?

Thanks in advance!

There is currently a problem in T50 where you can submit your score multiple times per week from different IP Addresses.

This means the T50 is often diluted with multiple copies of the same people. You are more likely to play those people 2-3 times in a row.

These people, do they do this on purpose or do they just play from alot of different computers?

I have this issue too, it can make Top 50 annoying sometimes, or too easy.
Hey Jappert did we play in PvP1 recently? Your name rings a bell.

For the most part it's people doing it unintentionally.  However, there is no need to resubmit your score after you have done it once.  If someone wishes to check their place in T50 then it can be done through other means.  However, since this is not done it can be seen as intentional in a sense.  But it's not purposely resubmitting scores to gain more places, it's usually just a lack of concern for anyone else who either submits their score to T50 or to people playing against T50.

I experience this too. In one sitting I will get the same 5 players over half the time. Often they only submit once. A theory is that the random number generator is more likely to gravitate towards certain opponents based on a factor decided whenever you load elements. This can be beneficial, actually. Last week I needed a couple miracles, but there was only one miracle farm. I would play 10 opponents, and if I did not see the player I wanted I refreshed the page. Finally I got the person I wanted to play, and they showed up a few times more as I continued grinding. Of course, people submitting multiple times is a large factor, but the RNG probably plays some part.
Somehow still around, somewhat

Interesting theory, but why in the world would it do that?  I don't see the reason to go through the trouble of writing that code.

The pseudo-code for getting a random T50 opponent it's so simple it's silly:

top50 = sql('SELECT DISTINCT t.user FROM top_scores t ORDER BY t.score DESC LIMIT 50')
r = random(50)
return top50[r]

I just got matchups against deepdown 5 out of 8 tries at T50 and it gets pretty old playing the same opponent over and over.

r = random(50)
And how does it get this code? True randomness doesn't exist; so there is a formula either made by Zanz or the program this was made in. That formula, like any other RNG, doesn't actually generate random numbers. Thus, it isn't perfect. It may pick some numbers much more often than others consistently. Just a theory though.

If the RNG was flawed, I would expect it to show up elsewhere in the code, such as who gets to go first in an AI match, or the starting hand you get.

Those both seem sufficiently random to me.
