This card just doesn't really have a niche. It's ability is not only really expensive as you have to pay for it every turn, but also useless as you can't use it right away.
Can't use it right away as opposed to what? What can use its ability right away without SoR?
Phoenix's ability to turn into Ash is ready as soon as Phoenix enters play.
Seraph uses an activated ability. Activated abilities are slower than non activated abilities.

Can someone please explain to me how using its ability removes shard of wisdom even after it was quinted? Its far from making sense to me from a mechanical standpoint due to the fact that its ability says nothing about removing previous statuses such as SOW nor does it say that it can remove being immortal after quint. I also don't see any reason that it should be this way so please fill me in.

I think only Zanz can tell you the reason. Not sure whether it is a bug but I think it is intended though.

Wisdom is a special version of immortality - that is, wisdom overwrites immortality. Seraph's ability removes immortality at the end of the second turn, and therefore removes wisdom as well.

Bit like Aflatoxin with an end-of-turn purify effect?

Hmm, I'd recommend anyone using Sev's rush deck to switch out the unupped dragon for this card, upgraded. There's no reason not to, as far as I can tell, and it saved you 1 fire quanta.

I find this card curious. People sang songs about it when it was first released and for 13 more pages, yet I rarely see it used.As often as before almost, fire decks use the same old tricks of Phoenix's, Golems and Dragons. Must be the cool pic.
