this is by far my favorite growh card in the whole game.  Esp b/c the growth element is earth put some armor on this guy when you play him and he will go about destroying everything he sees with little risk of death.

Great card. But, it's not very spell-immune. Thunderstorms, RoFs, Bolts or whatever can ruin your plan having a 17/15 killer for example. :P Quinting them can be quite helpful. ;)

Golems have an awesome damage/cost ratio.  Best growth creature in the game.

I used to be 4 :fire?
Yes the Golem was 4 :fire for a long time, and I'm not sure but I believe the Destroyer was originally 4 :fire till it was changed in an early patch (maybe someone else can confirm that).

The reasoning for the change was that people were mixing unupgraded 4 :fire and upgraded 5 :fire versions and playing both on the first turn with a Cremation.  I don't like the change at all because it ruined my favourite unupgraded deck.  : (

So the last time someone posted here is 2 years ago?? lol. anyway this is still a powerful card. And still used a lot in immorush. Glad it did not suffer greatly under the fire nerf till now.

as posted earlier before the patch, used to see a lot of photon/immo/upped golem/un-upped golem first turn rushes, an absolute pain to counter unless you could get a RoF or Bone wall.

I've built a deck around this card and it has served me well =)

It is a good target for Quintescence and Overdrive/Momentum, excellent actually.
At the least it's invincible Growth with high base Attack.
Stat at +5|+1 per turn is very quickly lethal.

Acceleration/Overdrive overwrites the skill of the creature. So an overdriven golem cannot grow, and will gain +3/-1 per turn, not +5/+1.

Oh. Then the Rage Potion+ is still an OK bet, but plain Blessing+ seems the best choice, and it's not too great. Even the base is a strong unit, but this is case to get a way to further ramp it.
