Way too much life, they make phoenix's practically immortal.  I'd also increase the rebirth cost.

should have 1 health imo

Not 1 health; they'd be fodder for anything.  Say about 4 health and reduced playing cost for the normal, but say 3 for upgraded.

I think that Ash is fine as it is. A Phoenix doesn't do that much damage anyways, and it is very easily removable.

And I think Ash should be available at the Bazaar. Graboid and Shrieker are both available.

Bloodshadow is right.

Easily removable, for sure, but how many times? I think it could have a lower health, like 4, and the cost of rebirth should be 2 :fire at least.

Perhaps leave it as it is, but increase the cost of rebirth to 2 :fire. While it has high health, you must understand that it cannot do damage unless it is reborn. In many cases, you can simply devour the Phoenix and leave the Ashes be until they reborn. It is more food for your Oty and over time, effectively halves the damage of a Phoenix (4 damage over 2 turns).

I think it is fine as it is without changing the cost of rebirth, but might need some tweaking as the full extent of its effectiveness is still not yet established.

Id like to play  Rage Nymph/Ash deck, just so Ash can do damage.  'Cause it'd be funny.

And what you do when your opponent have, lets say, 4 phoenix in play?

Phoenixes are not meant to die anyway. Be happy the Ashes are defeatable at all.

Seems like playing phoenix and then casting immolation on it works wonder! Anyone has any idea how to build a blazing fast mono-fire deck with phoenix?  ;D

Has anyone looked into the mono-fire decks section?   :o

I'm happy to say that I was the first to build such a deck, completely unupgraded, and it is in the mono-fire deck section.

Use Liquid shadow on the phoenix or his ash... and it will not rebirth anymore.

The upgraded ash sucks than the non upgraded ash changes to a stronger pheonix.

Since you can't have a Ash in you deck doesn't matter is the upgraded is better os worse.
And the upgraded Phoenix is weaker because it's cheaper.

Is it possible to win an Ash from the Slots?

I've never seen one so far, neither the slots, neither in the hand of an AI.

Ash isn't a standalone card, you just get it on your field when a (Minor) Phoenix die.

Like the Cancer Cell or the Pharaoh?

Malignant Cell, yes; Pharaoh, nope.

You can have a Pharaoh in your deck, but they are rare, so you can only get one of them through the spins.

There isn't a limit on how many Pharaoh's you can get.

I didn't said that you can only get just one card.
I said that you can get one in the spins.

It WOULD be nice if Ash was a card that could be obtained without getting a Phoenix killed. It would make  :fire alot better. And I'd like that.  ;)

When I first started the game, I thought that a 0/7 creature that could turn into a 7 att. creature after for 1  :fire was OP.
This change is fair to slightly balance Fire.

If you think that a card that uses a total of 8 :fire to create a 7 ATK creature is OP...
Then what do you think of Phoenix, which uses 7 :fire to create a 7 ATK creature?

5hp still isn't bad. It can survive a shockwave, can't be devoured, nor sniped nor RoF'd. Mainly the thing that changes is that you can't rage potion a lobotomized ash now.

If I can't lobo it & I have a spare lightning in hand, I'll definitely kill it.

Good change, though I would have liked to have seen the upped with less health than the unupped, but only out of a weird desire for symmetry.

Good change. I would even go as low as 3 or 4.
The card advantage still remains.

Yeah I have to agree with several above.  Two cards to kill phoenix seems like alot already, but with 5 hp its crazy.  Don't get me wrong, I like crazy ;P just sayin

It would have to something specific such as Lightning the second time. Of course, I never got how eating a Phoenix forced my Otyugh to eat the Ashes too. yuck.

lol. Now that you mention it it seems funny. Perhaps the phoenix cremates in its mouth so the ortugh spits it out to let it cool down.

That's what I thought, though the self-cremate is not enough for quanta like the spell.

I love it and Phoenix. Provides a creature for mono fire that is resistant to CC. Now that thunderstorm can nuke all but the unupped dragon, it needs resistance.
