Instead of trying to alert every player from allied Elements, which in the full launch could mean dozens of players, why not just make it so that any Element who is currently at Peace or Allied with Life (or whatever element the player who set the trap is) would be immune to the trap?  That seems like the easiest fix.

That doesn't make sense. Why would someone without any woodcraft be immune to traps, just because they're friends with the trapper? If you want immunity, just take the Scouting skill.

Actually what TStar said, does make sense. Your allies are immune to traps because they know where they are. And how do they know that? Well, you told them.

This is actually the original mechanics of traps. Why I changed it, I have no idea. I probably wasn't thinking.

Well, you're in charge but...this makes the Scouting skill almost worthless(at least half of it, I've no idea what the other part does).

Not at all.  Players from other elements that you are not allies with can take Life skills during a time of peace and set traps as well.  Don't forget skill trees are not restricted to just the players of that element.

Oh, don't get me wrong, it's useful for that. But in my opinion(which could be completely wrong) skills should be the most benefit to their own element.

Maybe add a clause: for :life scout is also revealing adjacent hexes.

Skills should definitely not give some hidden bonus to players from that element. Not only would it be more complex, but it would also discourage players from building unique skill combinations.

Players already get a "bonus" by getting an extra upped card from their element, which helps them to get XP and Rep bonuses.

Is it possible to set more than one Lotus Trap in a given hex (presumably so that they could affect multiple players moving into the hex at once)?

I would assume multiple players with the ability could all set their traps there, yes.

Yes.
Could the same player set two traps on one hex? Or would you need multiple trap-setters to do so?
