While I do like the level of skills that Earth has, I feel that it's simply not good enough to compete with other elements. Darkness has card denial, upgrade-boosters, salvaging bonuses, teleporting skills, advanced ways to gain exp, and other unique ways to tackle the enemy.

Earth, on the other hand, does not. Most of their abilities lie in being heavily defensive, or getting electrum. They have no card denial, teleportation (heck, even their movement isn't something to talk about), unique exp boosters, and their ability to create Elite Shriekers is similar by means to the ability to use Giant Frogs. I feel that Earth simply doesn't have enough combat capabilities to uniquely gain an advantage on the opponent.
Perception is the source of misunderstanding.

Why, yes. I do have a Mindgate necklace. It's how I ninja everyone.

I don't know if I'd be too joyful to start as Earth. Being able to dig for :electrum and craft Shields (which you could also sell for :electrum) doesn't seem to get you anywhere.

There aren't any skills that can 'really' help you in a battle. I couldn't imagine just sitting around your town and using 'Fortify' over and over again.

Maybe change Tremors -> ???
and Elite Shriekers -> Stone Golems

In my opinion, simply changing Deadly Fortify back to Imp. Fortify II (Triples Fort bonus) would be all Earth's tree needs. The ability to use 18 upgraded cards (Or 9, but you can always move away and force them to aggressive attack) is a hefty threat and so long as you've got that discouragement to start a fight with you you can just farm :electrum all day long and eventually get strong enough to beat them without the bonus.

However, 6-12 upgrades is nowhere near enough to put off an attacker who has one of the better denial or offensive T3 skills.
I ask nothing of humanity but fairness in all things, but I do not expect even that.

Not all skill trees are supposed to have awesome offensive PvP skills. Idea is to have one more defensive skill tree, and we naturally picked earth for that. But I do agree that :earth skill tree needs a small fix. Otherwise it mightl lose the "coolness" battle and nobody wants to play it.

I think there was a reason for not using the triple fortify. Not sure what it was though. :)

In regards to the Triple Fortify, I think there was an issue regarding the 'stacking effects' of Triple Fortify + Double Fortify + (insert other generic upgrade abilities), or something of the like. ^^; On one hand, some people would have taken it multiplicative (double x triple = septuple (or whatever x6 is)), while others thought that Earth elementals trying to Fortify their position and then trying to move seemed unfair (basically making them impossible to attack). But that might have changed now.

One major thing that might be changed for clarity purposes is the 'Crystal Golem' skill on Tier 3 - you might have to add that by 'default stance', it doesn't require AP to activate, just so that newbies who look at it won't be discouraged to pick up an ability that practically 'roots' them to an area.

Another idea might be:

Basilisk Blood- 2AP
Target player may not change stance or move during his next turn.

Could be changed, of course, to just one or the other, or higher cost/ect. and I'd assume that it should target players on the same hex but could also be made to work on those 1 away.

(And, though this isn't the thread for it, I'm pretty sure I was told that creating a mine/tunnel or anything that took more than 3AP to complete would take place over several turns. Just checking)
I ask nothing of humanity but fairness in all things, but I do not expect even that.

Digging and Mining seem to be a bit redundant to me. I'd replace one of them with something else.
