Mono-aether plus purifies can beat him sometimes. Purify was buffed to provide 2 counters un-upped, which helps, but the win-rate still isn't very good un-upped. Furthermore, it seems you don't have any lobotomizers (the rare aether weapon), which will decrease your win-rate significantly. Still, sometimes he doesn't draw any physalia until late game. I would at least say it is better than not making use of the oracle's daily prediction.
