Title: The Deck Manager 2.0
Post by: Xenocidius on December 08, 2011, 12:22:52 pm
>>>The Deck Manager 2.0<<< (http://elementscommunity.org/tools/mydecks/)

Tired of having deck codes scattered all over the place? Tired of not being able to remember your decks when you try to play Elements at a friend's house? Then the Deck Manager is just the thing for you!

New in 2.0:
Features:

XENOCIDIUS SOFTWARE PROUDLY PRESENTS

>>>THE DECK MANAGER 1.1<<< (http://elementscommunity.org/tools/xenocidius/decks/)

Tired of having deck codes scattered all over the place? Tired of not being able to remember your decks when you try to play Elements at a friend's house? Then the Deck Manager is just the thing for you!

Features:
  • Convenient login system!
  • Have all your deck codes in one place!
  • Access your decks from any computer!
  • Name and view all your decks!
  • Organize your decks into groups for easy filtering!
  • Write notes for each of your decks!
  • Cool background!

Hmm ... yeah ... I don't actually know how useful this is. It's basically a convenient, fancy, pretty replacement to Notepad. Still, it's cool.

It says it in the tool, but I'll say it here as well: please do not use your in-game or forum password. I have direct access to the database and therefore your account details. Who knows what could happen if I got your game or forum passwords ...

If you have any questions feel free to ask. If you have feedback or suggestions post them here. Enjoy. :)

Well, this isn't really useful for PvP decks, as you can see them, so they're essentially unprotected data. Also, Google Docs.

Looks nice. I'll test it out and see how it compares to Google Docs.

I certainly won't look at your decks, though I'm afraid you'll have to trust me on that. I can't really do anything else about it, unfortunately.

It works for me. I'd say you have the wrong code, sir.

I have a gdocs for this, but its nice. Although it takes long to load all the images, and maybe a stats section would be nice.

Perhaps a notes box for each deck?

ok... I just checked the deck image thing again

it could be connection speed (or browser, or w/e) problem on my end... because it seems kinda random... most of the time, instosis image doesn't show, but once in a while, image(s) for other deck(s) don't either

I'm about to fix all your problems. I'll remove the images, but you will be able to click on the decks to go to an individual deck screen where the image and notes will be.

I guess I could add a Change Password option. Until I do that, the only way to change it is to ask me to do so for you.

.. or someone else !
You should encrypt at least the passwords.

Nice work anyway !

About the images, if they are generated from my server, you should note that image call from a page are limited. Could explain why this don't work when you have too many decks.

I like the new deck specifics page, though, could you please add a back/previous button. When I select a deck I keep looking for one (yes, I know it isn't needed, but well, it would be nice).

+1 rep, again.

I'm about to fix all your problems. I'll remove the images, but you will be able to click on the decks to go to an individual deck screen where the image and notes will be.
Instead could you insert something like the spoiler tag for showing and hiding deck image on the same page?

I noticed that, hence why I got rid of them except in the specific deck page. Incidentally, I'll credit you and add a link to your site later.

The idea is that you can use the Deck Filter menu to get back to where you came from ... or you can use the browser's Back button. :)

Instead could you insert something like the spoiler tag for showing and hiding deck image on the same page?
Good idea. Incidentally, I'll have it so that only one image can be previewed at a time, so as to prevent the issues seen already.

Great tool mang. :) At first I thought that there really wasn't much of a need for it since a word document works just as well..But after checking it out, I'm definitely a fan. I'd uprep you, but I'm still too nubby to do so. :P

Thought: Have an option to sort decks alphabetically? My OCD would go nuts over that.

This is embarrassing. It seems my free database host is experiencing some technical difficulties. I'll try to figure out how to host the database on my own site to avoid future problems like this. Until then, the only thing to do is to wait for it to start working again. Sorry about that.

>> The Deck Manager 2.0 << (http://elementscommunity.org/tools/mydecks/)

So I finally got around to updating this. It is now integrated with your forum account, meaning there is no need to make a separate one. It is also much faster and more responsive. I'll be wiping the old database and taking the old tool down in a few days, so be sure to get all your old decks if you need to.

Needless to say, your problem should be fixed, wolfunit. :)

Yeah, it uses a different database. Don't worry though - I ran a porting script and your old decks should be there now.

Currently, only few people realized that the page even exists.

Next time please post questions about this tool in this topic.

And yes, it's possible, though not strictly; simply delete or regroup any deck in the group.

I must be doing something wrong.

When I enter some decks using this tool, they look great. Yay!
If I go away from the tool and return, or even just refresh the page, all my work is deleted, and a fresh, clean, deck-free page greets me.

Li'l help??

So, umm, I woke up today and wanted to add some decks for a tourney and I see this:

My decks are gone and I can't seem to be able to add new onesOk, tested and I can actually add new decks. Seems like it was reset or something. Anyone else having this issue?

Luckily it didn't happen to me, but it's strange. If it's a database issue, then maybe anti can fix it (?).

Highly doubt it's a database issue. It happened to me once before, and the decks were back in a few days. I think it's just some cookie issue or something. Try ctrl-refresh, and logging out and back in to the forums.
