I need some demographics. If I'm going to have a radio show, people are gonna need to like the music I put on it. But you can't please everyone.
Post here with your favorite genre of music, and maybe an example (song, band, etc..) of what it sounds like.
I'll add a poll when there are more posts, and go from there.

I like Pop. Don't judge.

In other words, Psytrance, Metal and almost anything Touhou or Vocaloid. I especially recommend Touhou music since there are thousands of free songs out there of top notch quality covering ALL genres and more that don't even exist.
To add to the Metal part, Machinae Supremacy is my all-time favourite Swedish band. They had a good deal of songs for free on their site last I checked: http://machinaesupremacy.com/

I listen mainly non-english "happy" musics (and non-french musics cause i'm french..lol)
By "happy" music I mean musics that don't kill your morale, musics that give power up to make things in the day. :)
GO!GO!7188 (a J music) have many of these kind of songs. ^^ (example : "C7 ()")
The "Blur - Song2 ()" illustrate well what a "happy music" is. :))
... and some other musics in relation with the language I'm learning. (if I'm learning a language)

Owl City.
Foo.
Plus some random songs by, you know, whoever. Free downloads off of the back of cereal boxes and such. Mostly Pop and R&B.
EDITZ: Oh yeah, and a couple of said 'happy songs' in Japanese, Russian, etc. Not that I know what they're saying, but it sounds cool.

OC ftw. But I can't use his songs. :( iTunes hunts you down, donch'a know.

The Postal Service. Just because someone said OC, and I don't think OC is all that great.
So basically, this post means light electronica.

I enjoy Trip-Hop, with occasional forays into Folk/Rock. Some example artists:
Hooverphonic, Portishead, Massive Attack, Sneaker Pimps, Radiohead, Röyksopp, Regina Spektor, Sufjan Stevens.
-
Regina Spektor is bloody brilliant <3
-
Oasis, Blur, U2, Florence + The Machine, Queen, Deep Purple, Killers.
I also like Offspring, White Lies, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Oasis, Oasis
EDIT: I forgot, I like Oasis, Kings of Leon and Modena City Ramblers.
The latter is Italian, tho.

You know how trailers have all that epic music? Check out Two Steps from Hell, Future World Music, Intermediate Music, Shockwave Music, and a whole bunch more on youtube. Some of it is loud and vibrant, sorta like rock or pop (I think, I don't listen to that too often so I'm not sure), while some of it is calm and soothing, like neo-classical. However... as it is by production music companies and I'm not too sure about copyrights and that stuff, I'm not too sure how their works are allowed to be distributed.
Edit:
two examples
Two Steps From Hell- Science
Two Steps from Hell- Ice Planet
