(http://i.imgur.com/Th99u.png) | Creating OUR Radio - Step 1 *** We figured the best way to make Elements Radio the most enjoyable for the whole community is to survey the future listeners about their preferences before seriously touching anything. There will be a series of these topics, and all of them will feature a simple question or two, or a poll, which only takes a few seconds to answer. Hopefully the majority will partake in this process, and we can launch it as soon as possible. So please, check in from time to time and share your opinion to make it the best it can be! Now let us start with the basics. As in all Radio stations, a great portion of the shows are made of pure Music. And everybody loves Music, only our tastes differ. So our first question is: What is your personal earcandy? What do you like to listen to while having your daily dose of Elements Chat, or which musical style brings out the grinder from you? Any favorite bands or composers? Share it! We love them all :] |
Instrumentals and songs without a ton of lyrics are usually pretty good for me too.
I'm much of a metalhead, but I enjoy anything with a solid beat and vocals that aren't edited beyond belief. Here I was thinking I was the only one in the elements community who liked Sixx AM. On a more related note, I like bands like Motley Crue, and Alice Cooper.
Personal favorites include Epica, Kamelot, Eluveitie, Korpiklaani, Sixx AM, In Extremo, Siddharta, Sisters Of Mercy, Nick Cave, and then some.
Really, the only thing I'd love to see in Elements Radio is consistency: I really dislike when musical styles jump all over the place over the course of a half hour. Some tracks from a similar genre/artist, or at least with a similar tempo just makes it much easier to listen to for me.
I'll put a word in for chiptune (http://www.youtube.com/user/ReclusiveLemming/videos?view=1).
i prefer some anime songs as well.
Se-freaking-conded. And in a good way too.i prefer some anime songs as well.
Don't know about the majority, but I also like to listen to songs likely to be OST songs for an anime. :P
I like many genres, but i feel that soft electronic and chill-out are the best for the purpose of playing elements.
Something that soften the rage of losing the last match for a rare spin! ;)

Minimalist composers such as Ludovico Einaudi (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdDDY5nVA3A) and Roberto Cacciapaglia (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0jNMQ5xBYg) are also welcome.
Justin Beiber, One Direction, Old soppy love ballads, too much swearing, stuff that's not actually music, etc.

This is why we love you Annele.
If this is actually going to happen, there should be a poll. Something simple, like for 10 genres, which ones would you absolutely refuse to listen to.
Too complicated. I'd say stick to 1 so we don't have 12 sets of djsIf this is actually going to happen, there should be a poll. Something simple, like for 10 genres, which ones would you absolutely refuse to listen to.
Should be reversed: Which ones would you want to listen to.
I still like the original idea of having 12 stations, one for each element, with a different kind of music of each. It gives people different options instead of having one set list of music. I think some of the suggested pairings would come out a lot different now, with how popular electronic has gotten in two years.

Also, I'm trying to look further than simple, one-time music mixes, as if all goes well, we could even have many other things on air, like interviews, "talkshows", news and such; just like a real radio station. But we'll see about that.
I think there is nobody here anymore who still works on this elements radio, so maybe this topic should be closed... please correct me if I am wrong.
[...] if you need any extra help, I would absolutely love to help you out in any way I can ^.^
Just hit me up if you need me :P

Really? Aww, and I just found this topic and thought it was a good idea.
Yo, I know this guy (http://www.youtube.com/user/SamoeOfficial) from another forum that we both posted on once or twice. I can certainly assure you guys of the quality of his songs.I actually really liked the sound of that song. It's definitely not necessary, but if you're up to it, I'd love to have him on the show for a possible interview and maybe a special event featuring his music.
He's pretty nice. I can contact him for you if you want too.
This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGHJl3Cobro) is one of his songs if you want to listen.
No dubstep, no hard techy beats, no blacky black rappy rap, and no horrible bands from this generation.
I bet there's tons of kiddies in this thread just hoping to god there will be dubstep, my toilet can make better sounds.

To behonest, there are a lot of people with a lot of diferent musical genres preferences, so much that you will end up probably having a bit of everything. so why ask?Exactly. If that genre isn't your cup of tea, then just don't listen to it.
