USES: Earth's nymphs are used to reproduce a repeatable form of Basilisk's Blood at a cost of 3 :earth for each use.  A single nymph allowed to remain on the field can devastate the opponent vs. a creature-based deck.  However, their high cost and relatively low HP are a big downfall for these creatures.

Might be useful in long games when played on a creature with devour (or against a AI to draw it's Fire Lances...). But I think time must show how good that card works.

Nevertheless I'd prefer a nymph that could protect artefacts - but that may be too overpowered.

wow, that's pretty awesome. I know i could use that. play it on armagio then either wait 6 turns to use it's skill or us a gravity pull on him. talk about a next to unstoppable defense, say goodbye to bonewall possibly.

On this on a flying titan with gravity pull :D

Does the effected creature or the nymhp have this 6 turns wait?

You want to use this defensively? I see this as the Super-Freeze! One Nymph can hold six opposing creatures at bay. Of course they are crazy tough to kill otherwise now but it doesn't matter. Effect needs to be downgraded a bit IMO.
Title: Re: New Card: Auburn Nymph
Post by: YoYoBro on January 10, 2010, 11:01:03 am
Yes, Silken is right... it's like an uber congeal... but you can get the same effect with 2 arctic squids :P no need to nerf this card... with this you only need 1 card and pay 1 less quanta, but with 2 arctic squids you can make sure the opponent's creatures are as tough to kill as they were before, and don't become insta-massive dragons...

SIX TURNS?

Well, if this will be the bottled Earth, Imma splash Aether, do Otyugh + BottlePetrify + Quint, wait a bit possibly with Sundales...

Or use Earth/Entropy with those to hold and Mutations to get rid of. Elves, Lifesplash...

Oh, and why Auburn, not Brown?

Auburn is sexier :P

Can Quintessence stop the turn delay for Petrify, like it does for Freeze? That would be awesome. Get an Otyugh up and running with this thing.

Next Zanz will probably make a Petrify card. Cool.

Earth/gravity with aether splash then...

The Petrify ability screams to be played with Gravity Shield.

Earth + Gravity also gives access to Protect Artifact to make sure that the Gravity Shield can't be destroyed or stolen.

I still think Flying Titan+petrify would be even worse xD and still earth/gravity...

Earth/Gravity will be the new craze. So many absolutely epic things you can do with a couple of Auburn and Amber Nymphs as well as other items.

I cannot believe that you people forgot Adrenaline.

Use Petrify on Otyugh, then use Adrenaline on it. How does Adrenaline work on a 0-ATK creature? If it works, then the Otyugh will only be frozen for 2 turns. After that, it's an unstoppable devouring force.

Post by: icybraker on January 10, 2010, 10:04:39 pm
I didn't know Adrenaline worked like that. Does it decrease frozen time?

Any other Nymph got the respective Alchemy-card as a skill.

This one doesn't get StoneSkin but the new ability Petrify.

Well, it is kind of a "StoneSkin for creatures" but still ...

Post by: YoYoBro on January 11, 2010, 04:52:50 pm
Stone Skin isn't an alchemy card. Petrify will be the one for earth.

Pleased to hear that. So the world of elements is orderly again.  8)

In reply to someone on the first page, making a creature immortal does NOT remove freeze. It just gets rid of the freeze animation on the creature. It still can't attack or use skills until the original duration of the freeze effect weares off.

I could definately see this paired with an Amagio. If you had one, or even two, of this Nymph in play, just keep using the effect on the single Amagio every turn. The Amagio will never attack, but if you let it use Gravity Pull on itself before buffing it, it'll never die, and it's like you gain 20 HP every turn, multiplied by the number of Auburn Nymphs you have in play. =/

I would like for the Nymphs to not have "new" (at least in this combination) abilities. Or if has to be something before unseen then all Nymphs should have new abilities.

Why?? This nymph is fine as it is :O
Title: Re: New Card: Auburn Nymph
Post by: Terroking on January 12, 2010, 08:54:46 pm
This is not a new ability (technically if is, but petrify will be earth's alchemy card). Only reason we saw the nymph first is because the water alchemy card was done before the earth one (as well as air and gravity).

They will be showed us soon by zan... i guess he just needs the time to create the right artwork for them...

Any thoughts on Stone Skin? I actually thought that was the Earth alchemy card, though lacking a bottle on the picture did seem out of place. I was surprised that Earth was the only element to get a new non-alchemy card.

I thought the same thing too. Oh well, it's a cool card anyway :)

Here's a thought, guys:

Gravity Pull is a permanent effect, not an active ability.

Meaning, you could Gravity Pull with an Armagio, then petrify it, and the ability would continue working. Or you could play Gravity Pull/Force on a petrified creature at any point.

Also, I don't believe Gravity Pull can be removed via Lobotomizer, only Eternity (could be wrong though).

You're right... Grav Pull can't be lobotomized

nymph should be already immortal when it comes into game, and stats like 6/2 (7/3 upgraded), then i would see any use

Was Basilisk Blood always 1 Earth Quanta cost upgraded? I think Auburn/Earth Nymph's ability costs a bit too much to an effective choice if Basilisk Blood can be used in one turn. Simply because with the right decks, you can win in 4-7 rounds.

Edit: Saw the cost change, I see more use for it, now.  :)

I just got one myself a couple of days ago.

The card image in the OP needs to be updated. It only uses 3 quanta for its ability.
Title: Re: Auburn Nymph/Earth Nymph
Post by: Terroking on May 15, 2010, 11:43:37 pm
Yeah, I know.

The problem is the system that generates those images is still using the version of the card when it costs 9 :earth to summon and 4 :earth to Petrify.

It should be 8 to summon and 3 to Petrify, and I don't want to have one card set up differently from the others. That's also the reason I don't want to get the screenie myself, since I happen to have one of these Nymphs.

I've been using auburn nymph in combo with fallen druid and elite oty. It basically puts off devouring for 6 turns and using nymph as a long freeze. Although I'm about to upgrade the druid, but maybe there's cause for having one upgraded and one not?

This card goes well together with a voodoo doll (+gravity pull), or an armaigo (+20HP for three earth).

Otherwise, it's just like an artic squid with more health, longer stunning, more rare, and higher summon/ability cost.

Wow. Low damage input but high HP and really good CC hability.

I think this could be the stronger nymph buff of the posted ones.

This card really need a buff. I guess if you plan to bff all other nymphs aswell chaning the stats on this card is justified
Title: Re: Auburn Nymph | Earth Nymph
Post by: mega plini on May 09, 2012, 11:12:25 am
I don't realy bvelieve this card needed a buff that bad. I can understand the raise of it's HP, because the version we have now is easily destroyed with CC.
But the raise in Power doesn't seem to be correct in my eyes as it's ability is one of the best in the game.

This card is so amazing and not just for the fact it makes a creature stop attacking and using skills for 6 turns it is also nice to combine with catapults and armagios bcs u can deal  a lot of damage from  catapults as well as have an exelent protection if u give it to armagios.

One of the more lacklustre nymphs in the game. Still an average nymph though, but needs a buff imo, like a reduced cost to petrify perhaps??

Does a creature that just got hit with this nymph's ability becomse useless to catapult? Because it it doesn't, I'd just use this to create devastating catapult attacks.
