With the creation of quanta such as Void and my latest Mirror quanta, I felt it appropriate to create a thread devoted to the inspirations of designers who came up with new ways of playing with quanta.

Mind is not a pseudoquanta. Void and Mirror are. There was also 1* or something a few times to denote any type of quanta but would only be paid with 1 type of quanta.

Warning:The community is not as up to date on the coding of the game as it used to be. However what information survived indicates a very restrictive coding for quanta. The community may not know if a pseudoquanta can't work in the game. Know the risk when you use pseudoquanta.

Interesting to note that Bloodshadow's Void quanta concept works quite directly with the Mirror quanta concept. OP has the details.

EDIT: This may also be a good thread for pseudoquanta/pseudo-element inspiration.

Keep in mind that while pseudo-elements use pseudoquanta, pseudoquanta do not necessarily mean that they fall into pseudoelements. They may just be another representation of Other, as in the case of Mirror Quanta.

i like the mirror quanta because of its tendancy for monos and duos. I would support this in the real game. Mirror also bypasses the idea of using Nova's and SN's to power expensive "other cards". Great concept.

I'm developing a few new cards with a new pseudoquanta: Apogee Quanta.  Apogee quanta costs are all paid out of whatever quanta pool currently has the most quanta in it.  Any one apogee cost is paid out of a single pool of quanta -- if two or more are tied for fullest, one is selected at random and the entire cost is paid from that pool.  If no pool has enough quanta to pay the apogee cost, the ability cannot be activated/card cannot be cast.

Apogee's name is questionable. May we know what is the origin of the word and the inspiration for using it? Might there be a better word?

[Essence]

Apogee is the point in a cycle (usually an orbit) at which an object (usually a planet) is the furthest away from the center (usually the sun).  I was following the celestial-event-as-metaphor-for-quanta standard set with Nova and Black Hole.

When you see copy quanta, it means quanta the same as your opponents mark, also, the image could use some touching up on.
edit- sorry, having some trouble getting the image up, imageplay isn't working

Interesting concept nerd1. I actually had a similar idea when I came up with Mirror Quanta. I thought of naming it Nemesis quanta. How would Copy quanta be generated?
