So I was looking through an old notebook, and found some ideas I'd developed long ago. I think it was back in 2014? Who knows. They're next to useless now, but I'm just gonna post them here in barebones form (don't have the willpower to fill them into card tool). You're free to use them to build your own cards if you wish.



Vines: Vines were the mechanic that would save life. You can set up vines in a creature slot (maybe even a perm slot? :O). Vines would delay the creature for some time, but also deal 1 damage per turn. I made some life cards to illustrate:

Vine Frenzy
Spell | Cost: 7/6
All opposing creatures are stuck in Vines for two turns.

Vine Horror
Creature | Cost: 5/7 | Stats: 4|2 / 7|4
:life : Cover Opposing slot with Vines for two turns.

Death Creeper
Permanent | Cost: 4/3
Vine effects last an extra turn

Cobra Lily
Creature | Cost: 4/3 | Stats: 4|3 / 4|3
:life :life: Cover target creature with vines for 2 turns.

Seed Drop
Spell | Cost: 4/3
Target slot is covered with vines indefinitely after two turns.

Sprinkle Seeds
Spell | Cost: 4/2
5 random opponent slots are covered with Vines for two turns.



Some other cards I thought up. As you can see, the main theme was :aether and :life. :life was designed to make it more competitive, aether was to explore it's less used mechanics.

Red Rose
Creature | Cost: 2/2 :life | Stats: 1|4 / 2|6
Deals it's ATK as damage to opposing slot each turn.

Prophet
Creature | Cost: 5/4 :aether | Stats: 4|4 / 4|7
:aether :aether : Look at your opponent's top card. Generate 3 quanta of its element.

Magus of the Mind
Creature | Cost: 5/8 :aether | Stats: 3|3 / 9|3
:aether :aether :aether : Cards that your opponent draws next turn are destroyed at the end of their turn.

Arcane Zenith
Permanent (Pillar?) | Cost: 0/0 :aether
Spell Damage: +1 (Upped: also, Generate a Lightning card in hand)

Phase Step
Permanent | Cost: 6/4 :aether
All immaterial creatures lose immaterial and gain +2|+2 and spell damage

Tesla Coil
Permanent | Cost: 4/4 :aether
Whenever a spell is played, generate a Spark/Ball Lightning

Mana Burn
Spell | Cost: 2/1 :aether
Increase cost of cards in both hands by 1.

Candlelight
Spell | Cost: 2/1 :fire
Decrease cost of cards in both hands by 1.

Why Mana Burn though, if EtG uses Quanta?

Seriously, though. I'd love to see these added to the game O:
