Fire Deck Help https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=36489.msg458372#msg458372
« on: February 10, 2012, 12:37:30 am »
It's not too bad, but I need it to be more simple. I cant seem to decide what cards to get rid of, they all help, but I lose 1/3rd of the time to normal AI (Level 2).
Just need help with what cards I should keep and what ones I should sell. Thanks.

I'd either get rid of all of the death cards, or change the mark to death and get rid of the bone pillars as a start.  That'll make it so you can play your cards much easier.

-all death cards
-hammer
-ash eaters
-fires spirits
-lava golems
-RoF

Keep it a simple mono fire deck. 6 phoenixes/dragons, 3 deflags, 3 rage pots, 2-3 dragons/phoenixes, one short sword or shield, and fill the rest up with pillars. 30 card simple rush.

Looks better. You should still cut it down a bit though. 30 cards will get you better, more consistent draws. -3 RoF -firebolt - ragepot -fire shield - 2 fire pillars, +shield.

Firebolts are more flexible than rage p.
Really depends. In the early game, rage will deal 5 damage wheras fire bolt needs more fire quanta to deal more damage. Both cost the same, so rage pots would be better in teh early game. Also, not sure about RoF, it just seems too expensive to be really worth it. 4 bolts/ragepots should be enough CC.

Some more improvements, its not that bad. Ive done 193 games, probably 140 with this deck, 129 wins and 64 losses. Whats the average?

Immolation combos with phoenix's work great, I rarely have quanta problems.
But versing decks with strong defense, I normally lose. Bones shield is incredibly powerful against my phoenix's, somewhat OP.

The fire spirits are there for immolation, as well as building up strength if people underestimate them and use spells on my phoenix's first up.
In the process of upgrading all immolation's to cremation's.

Any suggestions? The 2 main deck types I have problems with are gravity and death. Gravity is strong with Otygahs or what ever they are called, gravity pulls on that 0/25 monster, death is strong with bone shields combined with lots of poison and that toxin card (deals 1 damage per turn to monsters) so they really have an unstoppable shield when fighting a deck like mine, if the right cards are played.

It's as you say RE: Death decks - you'll struggle to beat Plague+BoneShield with this kind of deck, but that's just how it is sadly. No deck is without its weaknesses right?
If Otyughs keep giving you trouble, maybe add a 4th Rage Potion? =) There's not really much you can do other than hope you blast the things early enough, before they get 6HP and hopefully before they start eating your spirits. If need be, you may have to let your Phoenix's lie down for a while as Ash, to stop the Oty getting to 6HP, until you draw a Potion to deal with them.

I think you can drop a pillar for the 4th Pot, though I only tested it a little bit and I don't have your upgrades =)

I see you're using immophoenixes. If you want to make your deck faster, have 6 immolations and 6 photons for fuel. if that's teh case, you can also add in other cards like arsenic and fog shield, since immolation gives you rainbow quanta. If you feel your creatures are too weak, you can put in dragons (they have slightly more health), golems (that can grow with :earth), or even plate armor.
