If I took away any dimensional shields I would get caught defenseless. Dragons take way too much quantum, and I need to spend of lot of the quantum on Dimensional Shields. They usually are used really late in the match, sometimes never.

I think I don't need criticism now. <.<
I plan on just upgrading all of my cards. Starting with pillars and Thunder. Then Dimensional Shields.
Would upgrading them be good? The upgraded pillars will be able to the the Elite Immortals extra quantum, and everything else(Besides Phase Dragon) would just get lower cost. So is this good?

And also I made a small update on my deck.

Lobotomizer x1
Aether pillar x9
Aether Tower x1
Lightning x4
Thunder Bolt x1
Immortal x6

I upgraded some cards, and removed the sword and added Lobotomizer.
Dimensional shield x6
Phase dragon x2

Short sword x1
Aether pillar x10
Lightning x5
Immortal x6
Dimensional shield x6
Phase dragon x2

I'm fairly new so I don't have many cards, this is the best deck I could make and would like some criticism to make it better.
The immaterial monsters are the main part of the deck.

All further updates will be in my signature.

1x Lobotomizer
5x Phase dragons
6x Shields
1x PU
17 Pillars

So if by chance you get stuck by a gravity shield your only means of attack are Lobotimize? I think you'd run out of shields before that finished the match, wouldn't you? Low chance of winning there.
Immortals have lower cost, and also are immune to gravity shields. The only reason I even do have phase dragons, are to defeat the enemy faster when I can't place to immortals instead, and infact that helped me more then 4 times already.

What situations do you use Lightning that aren't covered by Dimensional Shield?
Buying time, destroying some of those rather crazy strategies before they get out of hand. Mainly those two.

its not better. You just prefer not to use them. IMO they are evem more usefull than the dragons since them make your opponent think about spending his quantum with healing early (specially if its a CPU). If that happen, his gameplay is slowed and you can put your loved Dragons in play =P

Yeah, you might want to add a dragon. You could probably take away 1 or 2 Dimensional Shields and still be fine. The Immortals are good, although the Dragons are better. If you don't spend so much Aether quantums on Immortals, then you could probably be able to afford more Phase Dragons. ;)

I never made it past Calc II in college. What's the mathematical symbol for "gratuitous handwaving"?

With 6 creatures in a 30-card deck, the odds of drawing a second creature by the time you have 13 quanta built up are quite good.
:D

If you can play a 2nd immortal, you can play a 2nd dragon the same way. Delaying the 2nd dragon by 1 or 2 turns if you don't have quanta quickly compensates after 1 or 2 turns. Meanwhile the 1st dragon played is already making huge profit in terms of damage versus the 1st immortal played

if immortals are not better than dragons then it is useless since you won't put it in the deck
He said immortals are useless.
Some of us disagreed that immortals have it's uses (and you already said that too, against gravity shield)
You started to talk about which card is better.
And now you say that immortal is useless and disagree with yourself.

I don't think there is anything mor to discuss. Immortal has it's uses. If you don't want to put it in your deck because chances to loose against a grav shield are very low thats totally fine. I can understand that
But please stop to say that immortal is useless.

If you have a cumulative 13 quanta, and at least two creatures, then if those creatures are dragons your 1st dragon is making no headway whatsoever because you can get out your 2nd immortal by the time your 1st dragon comes out. Meanwhile, realistically you'll have to delay your 2nd dragon a minimum of 2 to 3 turns (longer, if you've got low pillars) because of shield upkeep. Against a fast deck you won't always be able to afford playing your first dragon before having to start spending quanta on shields (which will almost certainly delay your first dragon, but won't affect your first immortal), let alone a second one. Waiting longer to shield invites the other player to deflagrate/steal you to death.

lol actually that proof is not mathematical/complicated as you claim it to be

but I do agree that Phase dragons are better than Immortals except when versus gravity shield, FYI if ppl think immortals are better just let it be because it is their loss lol, there is no point of getting flamed by everybody when you are trying to help
Just because I disagree with brain's analysis doesn't mean it's flaming. Okay, I threw in a couple snarky comments but that's it.

Still, when you put it that way, I just have to apologize. I never realized brain was simply trying to help non-aether players like me by suggesting that aether players stick to relatively easy to beat dragon-only decks instead of promoting more dangerous mixed decks. :D

I remembered what I initially logged on for now.  Has anyone started using the phase recluses in their aether decks?  They're not invulnerable, but they only cost 4 aether quanta, hit almost as hard as dragons, and can bypass gravity shield.  Imo they can add a lot of speed to the aether deck, but I'm not sure how well they would actually work with only 2 life.

I try to upgrade my spiders, but I have doubts like you. The deck will be faster especially when you upgrade parallel universe too, however recluses are easy targets for direct damage cards, otyughs and even scrabs. Gemini uses this tactic efficiently, but it is a god, whether fake or not :)
