The Deck first for those who are already thinking "TL:DR", below is how I got to the final product and a little about what it can do.

The Battle of the Flying Poseidon

Poseidon is not the most hated card in the game but it does seem like one of the least loved. I hardly see it in decks besides ones that can just coincidentally fit it in and have no real other options, water/earth raises its hand in the back. So I set out on a journey,... no a mission to,... an EPIC QUEST to create a completely new deck that both focuses on the use of Poseidon and was actually decent, (well decent enough to not be frustrated while playing it, so... really very average). The following are the decks which led to my final product. So without further ado I will take you all along my path. A path very similar to that of Odysseus'; I too have had to ask the blessings of a great Greek god, whose name escapes me for some reason at the moment, to aid me in my struggles to find the harmony that is the multiplicity of enumerated and mentally shielded synergies whom hath wrought divine beauty and extreme havoc that silence irrational thought and breach existentialism.

While not a bad deck, this version is far too slow and relies on a good start to have any shot. It can win against great decks if they have a bad start as it capitalizes rather nicely, the deck Stormy either wins in 6 turns or it doesn't at all, and it even counters the notorious poisondial deck. This comes at a price though, any rush deck can and for the most part will beat this deck if they have a decent enough start. This deck just doesn't get a gravity nymph or a an entropy nymph out fast enough to compete with rush decks, and by rush I'm being pretty general here. Also CC is a major problem because one of its weapons and two of its nymphs are very fragile and with only its very limited potential creatures this deck gets hit hard with the loss of any single one.

Ok so if speed was the issue before maybe a more straight to the point deck might be the key: Deck 2

This one is also not bad and definitely picks up on the speed from the last one; though it also loses some of its longevity and begins to feel like a one set-up wonder. Supernova was the horse behind this design and while it does increase the reliability of effectively using earthquake, discord and black hole, it also drastically limits your usage of them. Before the design concept was to make a deck that could use the three denial effects potentially unlimitedly. Discord, Poseidon and a Gravity nymph achieve this goal but are far too expensive to use. the above deck uses the same synergy but because of Supernova it limits your usage drastically.

I feel I need to elaborate on what I mean by limits. The previous deck was limited in its ability to use the denial effects too. Simply put it cost too much to ever have them when you needed them. If you had a great start and got some of them going early generally you slowed the opponent down enough to then use all three unyielded but you had essentially already won the game and therefore the existence of those cards had simply cluttered your deck. You either need them but couldn't use them or you could use them but didn't need them. Supernovas seems like an appropriate response and in a way they are but I have a major issue with them in general and it shows in this deck. Supernova cost quanta; it often times can be a great thing but it can, for the same reason, be supernova's biggest weakness and it has very little to do with the fact that you need entropy quanta to cast it. The fact that it cost quanta means that mulligan will not affect your ability to rely on its appearance in the opening hand so you have to treat it like a normal card and not like a fuel source. I can't think, "well I'll have one or at least should at the start and I'll probably draw another soon after and hopefully that will get me by until I draw a 3rd and 4th," because in actuality you'll probably have 1 or will draw one early but you might not and you need two to even use a black hole. Your limited by only being able to play 1 a turn so spamming any of your denial effects is out of the question, which sucks when you've got a deck full of denial and supernovas, your falling behind and you just started to draw entropy pendulums. not to mention 1 black hole can be a death sentence and I'm ranting and i know i need to stop but i just don't like supernova as an effective rainbow quanta sorce outside of a deck that focuses on entropy like mutation decks or serenbows, blah blah blah

I'm going to stop talking about Supernova because I feel I was starting to not make sense. Basically I just don't think Supernova is right for this type of deck.

After a long time of thought and whole night of rest I came up with this, my final deck. "Eternal Poseidon"

So I had really intended on making a flying weapon deck that centralized around Poseidon but naturally it turned into a flying weapon deck that centralized around denial. I thought back to the first deck and really looked at what was causing it problems and I came up with one main issue that I felt was holding the deck back. Its nymphs and Poseidon were to expensive when it came to fueling their abilities. For an answer I thought not of the Greeks and their gods and mythology but of an entirely different spiritual belief. After a journey south and devoted a lot of time to learning the ways of the Egyptians I was ready... ok no more puns.

Shard of readiness is the answer to the first decks problems but I can't just simply add it to the deck. It needs quanta to be cast which means it needs to fill a larger role than simply aiding what is already established. I proceeded to drop the earth element completely and eventually realized I needed to drop the entropy element as well (even though I didn't want to. My beautiful and most favored element of entropy, it is still chaos I see when I close my eyes to fall asleep). After that the pieces seemed to just fall in place. Time Nymphs replaced discords as my heavy damager except they were much more durable and sped my deck up as opposed to slowing my opponent's down. Gravity became very easy to balance as I simply needed a few pendulums for nymph's tears instead of also needing their quanta to fuel the gravity nymphs. And Eternity replaced Discord as another denial weapon, both of which hurt opponents who rely on just a few elements and are accented by Poseidon. All of the changes also helped with the overall speed and durability of the deck and it should be noted that this deck kicks deck 1's ass. It also struggles with deck 2 though but I should reiterate that deck 2 is not a bad deck, I just don't like it.

TL:DR, well then just look at the decks and decide what you think.

As a bonus here are two extra deck options, the first being similar to deck 2 in that it is a simplified version of Eternal Poseidon, the second deck is this overall deck concept with the element entropy replacing water. (because everyone loves entropy as much as I do. And you do get bonus points if you notice the synergy between supernova, dissipation field and SoR)

A fickle mind's fiend's foe is his friend; As is the enemy of his villain. But a fickle mind's fiend is his ego; And it's foe is the feeling of being alone.
