132 Duo Decks [WIP] https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=53304.msg1120218#msg1120218
« on: January 09, 2014, 12:58:08 pm »
One day I had this crazy idea: how about if I compile all duo decks from each element into a single topic? After starting a short list of possible combinations, I started testing some of my decks and decided to actually make this happen. The list is far from complete, but I'm still working on adding decks until I have all 132. I am also looking for suggestions and feedbacks, from veterans and newbies. The decks below will not have any rares, except for weapons, and ups, because I want this to be newbie-friendly.

Hopefully, my compilation will be able to highlight each element's strength and weaknesses, and how it synergizes with other elements. All of the decks below are built by me, and have been tested, so I can safely say that they work. Do note that they may not be the best decks to get Electrum or score, compared with the other decks posted in the forums.

Oh yeah, there will be 2 decks per combination of 2 elements. Another combination with the same elements will have a different primary element in its deck. Just to let you know.

Don't be surprised if there are only a few decks posted. I am planning to make this a long-term project and will gradually add decks. Feel free to post any decks you want to recommend.

EDIT: Changed topic subject (from 66 to 132, did some miscalculations). Edited op.

Nice idea you got there ;). But you shouldn't phrase it as "all duo decks from each element", as a matchup of two elements might have a lot of different duo decks.

The decks seems okay to me, though the Entropy/Darkness deck doesn't seem to have any synergy other than the Lycanthropes. Maybe turn it into a Liquid Antimatter deck with Lycanthropes as offense.

Entropy/Gravity seems alright, although you might want to switch out Amethyst Pillars for Entropy Pendulums or including more entropy cards. And I think it'd be great if you made a list of the synergies utilized in the duo.

@Zawadx
Oh, I'm planning to just list 1 deck for each combination of 2 elements. Just for future clarification, if I have to come up for a deck for Darkness-Entropy, and I've listed an Entropy-Darkness deck earlier, I'll make a deck that is focused mostly on the primary element, in this case Darkness.

Yeah, I'll probably write down synergizes when I'm 100% done. But won't that be a bit too obvious? I'm not targeting complete newbies. Instead, I'm looking for newbies that are looking for synergizes in the game.

I'll do some more testing with the decks you've mentioned when I list some more decks. Thanks for the tip!

@andretimpa
Haha, you've read my mind. Half of the decks you listed are the ones that I'm planning to add to the compilation. But keep in mind that I prefer unupgraded decks. Maybe I'll make a sequel with ups and rares. Maybe...

Thanks for the link. I must say Keos and I have thought of the same idea when we started our compilations. The difference between Keos' compilation and mine is that mine will list 132 decks, one for each 2 elements. And the decks will not have any rares except for weapons. Keos' compilation still have Arctic Squids, Pharaohs, and other "regular" rare cards.

I am a bit confused. At first this topic was called 66 Duo decks, which is indeed the amount of "element pairs" you can make. Now you have switched to 132, which is double that, but you still claim "one for each 2 element". Since your first number was correct, why change? Or do you mean 2 for each pair of element, like one fire/water and one water/fire?

EDIT: Ok, I read your first post again, and I see you actually mean 2 decks for each pair of elements. Just when you use the word combination it gets confusing when you claim 1 deck per combination.

And anyway, good luck with however many decks you'll make :P

@Blacksmith

Thanks for the support and link! Will definitely put in some decks from your thread if I run out of ideas :P

@Fippe94
Yeah, I had second thoughts about the number of decks I'm going to include. So, with 132 decks, each primary element will have 11 elements as its pair. So 11*12=132. There will be 2 decks for each pair of elements. Hope this cleared up your confusion.
I have to admit, I've been procrastinating the last 2 days. Listing and making 132 decks is tough. I'll add in some more decks today.
EDIT: Fixed the op. Looks like I forgot to change it after I changed the subject. Thanks for reminding me, Fippe!
