AtE Mechanic #4: Mill
Mill is a popular card game tactic used to win in various card games, but is often underlooked in EtG due to lack of support cards for the archetype. This weapon attempts to be a viable win condition on it's own, but will require control cards to help it build up enough power to defeat an opponent. Fortunately, Time has access like cards like Procastination and Sundial that can stall the opponent, making this a potentially quirky mono :time strategy a new player could try.

Too strong. Usually, it'll kill the opponent in 5 turns of play. Maybe even less if you support it with SoB.

Or does 'On attack' mean you must buff it before the effect occurs? That makes it pretty weak.

IMO this card should mill slower, perhaps increasing the number every other attack, or maybe not increasing the mill no. at all (but gaining an attack of its own)

This + Adrenaline + Momentum = Deck out by turn two of this being played assuming that the opponent deck is 30 cards.

Sure, it's a trio at best, but Momentum can easily be powered by a mark and then pillar split for Time and Life.

Very strong, even if you have to use FW/AW and a buff to make it usable.

I agree with Zawadx; it should mill slower. Maybe it should just be a constant mill of two cards every turn with zero attack. That way, it still has a decent effect on how quickly the opponent decks out, but it isn't so powerful in the long run.

i hope im not wrong but i think you cant use adrenaline on Dreambreaker because its a weapon.

If you use Flying Weapon, then it becomes a creature, so you can target it with buffs.

Dreamslayer + Animate Weapon + Momentum + Adrenaline + Quintessence is a win-con that can only be countered by SoW + a reflective shield. This only fits into a stall, and works without Adren.

Dreamslayer + Animate Weapon + Momentum + Adrenaline + Twin Universe is a win-con that can be done in a SoB+Dials combo deck. Quanta will be iffy, but that's 20 cards milled for 5 cards. Not okay.

The former combo in a stall would be fine if this didn't mill 1 more each turn. Much of the problem is, of course, that an attack equals a turn for a creature, which is what enables the disgusting Adren combo. If it didn't, it might be balanced enough to be used in both stalls and combo decks, as the latter would be forced to pack more defensive answers. After all, a Dragon+Fractal is an effective win-con too.

Why momentum? You get 5 attacks if it has 0 attack

Adrenaline could be throttled like scorpions

The issue is that after 6 hits it's milled 21 cards. Essentially one might as well have it be "mill 4" if they wanted it without ramp, but with same power level. Mill-2 may be the better power level

I assumed the attack has to connect for it to mill, but reading the notes it seems to be intended for use in Monotime (milling instead of dealing damage). The difference between 20 or 30 milled cards with the aforementioned Twin Universe combo won't matter against most decks either way. Being usable in the weapon slot certainly gives stalls another option though.

The ramp is too much. 1 constant mill or 2 constant mill is fine, but with adrenaline and constant growth its far too powerful.
There is a darkness inside every person. The only difference is how long it takes to come out.
