Because heaven forbid that any deck have a natural counter...

I kid, but seriously, the ability is 3 :fire per turn, so it's rather quanta heavy to keep going all the time.  With a deck that has :fire, Rain of Fire would shut down ROL/Hope, and Nightfall is mainly used with fractal pests, which would alleviate that problem if you're that concerned about it.

I don't like this so much, because previous status effects (frozen, delayed) did not stack duration.

Not to say that new abilities have to conform to the old ones, but it's just a preference of mine.  Thematically, wouldn't the oppressive heat disperse once the heat source is removed (Therm is killed)?  It shouldn't matter that there were multiple sources--they can't extend their heat presence into the future.

Well, I wanted multiple copies to be useful, but having the effect stack was too powerful.  So it was either increase the base effect and have it not stack, or have the duration stack.

Thematically, I guess higher heat makes it take longer to cool down.  Or something.
