Title: Deckout vs nightmare bug
Post by: dragonsdemesne on July 21, 2013, 06:13:38 am
Was playing against platinum arena (coincidentally, my own arena deck) and had the following scenario occur:

With exactly 0 cards remaining in my deck, the AI cast Nightmare, filling my hand.  On my turn, I should have been prevented from drawing because I had 8 cards in my hand, but as you can see from the screenshot, I lost the game even though I didn't draw a card.  (I'd have lost the turn after in any event)

I strongly suspect, based on my own computer programming knowledge, that this bug is caused by the same problem that causes you to lose to deckout due to shard of bravery one turn early as well.

I don't think it's the same. Probably the computer handles this as "You should draw now, do you have other cards in the deck? No? Deckout!", without considering that you don't have to draw now.

Maybe the program goes like; First - Draw, Second - Check if hand is full, and in the first step you die, or something.
Interesting bug though.

More likely: before drawing, it checks whether your deck is empty => declares deckout.
Next step would be to check if your hand is full, in which case you still wouldn't draw.

So the 2 conditions that need to be checked before drawing are in the reverse order.

Confirmed, with before and after pics:
BeefOwnage has 0 cards left and I am about to cast Nightmare on him/her.

BeefOwnage shouldn't be drawing any cards yet still loses the game. Funnily, the opponent shows this as the opponent leaving and wins, when in this case (s)he should have lost for decking out.

Just had the same thing happen against an opponents shard of bravery:
